This is the Sport Coupe model which is why it has the rear window that bows out rather then the Concave rear window as in the Impala custom. These are much much harder to find than the Custom models as they made so few of these by camparison. This is a 1971 Arizona Impala and is rust free, with exception of minor surface rust. NO rot anywhere. but not much paint either. lol The car is very staright but has a dent in the right front fender that will be a fairly simple fix. The bumpers are real straight but could use a rechroming. The grille is in great condition. Not broken. 350 cu.in. small block with an alumium intake and a new Edlebrock 4 barrel carb. The motor runs great. Good sounding dual exhaust front to back. windshield is cracked. Someone attempted to repair the dash at one time. I'm not sure what to make of the effort other than to state, it doesn't look good and needs replaced ...or covered. There's a lot of good in this car with it being free of rust and so straight. All stainless is there. tired door hindge on driver door. Needs a headliner. Seats were recovered at one time in a tan color. Needs carpet. floors and frame are solid as is trunk. The wheels were intended as temporary until painted but the right rear won't hold air. I will have the tire repaired so the car will be able to be driven onto a trailer or transport trailer. This car is priced very fair because I need the space it's taking up. The car is also available locally, naturally, so auction may end abruptly. Call me and make an offer for a quick sale if you like. Again, this car runs good, shifts good and sounds good but needs a battery. The one in it won't hold a charge but the car runs on a jump. Breaks are good but I have no idea how much life is in either the rear drum and pads or the front disc breaks. On Jun-23-11 at 01:27:37 PDT, seller added the following information: Engine compartment looks bad in the picture but the car runs much better than it looks. The air cleaner was removed to show the new Edlebrock carb and more of the motor unobstructed by it. So there is an air cleaner and it is always on other than for the pictures. If the bidding reaches $2100 I will include a new battery. Again, the floors and trunk floor are sollid, with no rust through. Chassis is solid and straight. No mods have been done to the suspension. No hydraulic ever. All stock. Interesting note -or- It being odd to me anyway is; The stainless trim is all there and actually more than I expected it to have, in that the trim that would seperate a color change at roof or where a vinyl top would meet the paint is also there. I've never seen one with this stainless trim in that spot unless it was two-toned or vinyl top car. This is the factory paint, thin as it is.... so there's never been a vinyl top on the car. The rear bumper is very straight and shoud clean up nicely. Also, the engine has electronic ignition. I did not check the numbers on the block so I do't know if the motor is original to the car. I do know that the motor runs good. The carb is fairly recent. Again, the air cleane is usually on the motor but was removed for pictures.
