This FJ 40 was someones project before I got it. I bought it because it is one of the most rust free example I have seen in our area. The motor that was in it did not run well when I bought it, and two days after I got it home the motor gave out ( it had a chevy 305 ). I put a chevy 350 in it engine numbers say the motor is a 1978, The motor is rated at 300 horse power. they came in the corvette and the 2500 truck that year. The motor was inspected and any thing that it needed was done. however it did not need much as the valves where clean and everything looked in tip top shape. ( bottom end ect ) This is evident in the way it runs, ( lots of Power ), it has been rebuilt and I am not sure of the miles but by the way the motor looked I would geuss they are low. It has a new clutch and throw out bearing. The trans and transfer case are what came with it, The seats have been redone, It has a new dash pad, It has new rims and tires, and the wiring has been gone through to make the lights and blinkers work. When I got this it had been some ones long term project stored inside for years, so it may need some tinkering. I have driven it around town a bit, The four wheel dirve works, And the motor runs great, it shifts good and goes strait. The steering is a little sloply, but not bad. I love these old land Cruisers, I have had a few of them and this one is a good example, I love the looks people give you and I cant drive it with out some one wanting to talk about it or buy it from me. It needs a few things still, The horn needs to be hooked up, and the wipers also need to be hooked up. they are just unplugged and may just need to be plugged back in. both easy fixes. Also as you can see from the pictures the top is not in the best of shape. Please look at all the pictures and ask as many questions as you like. I want the new owner to be happy!!
