Vehicle Detail
For sale is a 1972 GMC Pickup in great overall condition. It has the following features: cold aftermarker air conditioning system (which uses the factory a/c vents and controls). I have a box full of the original a/c parts if you want it. strong running 350 V8, rebuilt with approx. 25,000 miles on it. It is not the original engine. I cannot confirm but it appears to be out of a mid 1980's vehicle. HEI ignition All new wiring throughout with a Painless wiring harness, and new battery New Edelbrock 600 cfm carburetor Power steering works well Clean interior, reupholstered to original style upholstery, and new rubber molding New am/fm "classic look" stereo with iPod input connection, and new speakers New master cylinder, brakes work well (original front disk / rear drum) 4 interior seat belts (2 on outside with shoulder straps, and 2 lap belts on inside) - I did this so my wife and 2 small kids could all ride together :) Lots of manuals, repair handbooks etc. that will go with it (I even purchased a GMC factory assembly manual which is pretty cool) As far as I can tell everything else is basically original stock condition I purchased the vehicle about 5 years ago. The previous owner had done the majority of the restoration (not frame off) about 5 yrs before that, around 2000 / 2001. This is when the paint, engine rebuild, upholstery, a/c system, and other interior work were all done. Since I have purchased it, I have installed the stereo, wiring harness, battery, carburetor, master cylinder, and seat belts. The truck runs great and has never failed me. The A/C works very well. All other electrical items in good working condition. It has minimal rust but a few small bubbles are starting to develop in the usual places. The following are the issues that I know with the vehicle: The transmission does have a small drip but nothing serious as far as I can tell, since I've had it I estimate I've driven it about 10,000 miles total and have had to put maybe 2 quarts of transmission oil in it. There are no other leaks. Passenger window roller handle needs to be secured (you can roll the window up and down still however) One of the rear taillights will need a new bezel because the old one will not make good contact with the light bulb so it doesn't always work there is no spare tire The interior carpet and door panels are original, so, are not not in great condition. There are no tears or modifications, but they do show their age. The voltage gauge does not work. Minor rust bubbles under the door panels as I mentioned above. Also you can start to see some oxidation on the bed box above the tires. Other than that is has a few quirks but nothing major at all for a truck that is almost 40 yrs old. It was built and intended to be a reliable, fun & comfortable truck to drive, but it is by no means perfect nor original.. I've stated everything I know about the vehicle but can make no guarantees. I have no documentation of the work done by the previous owner but no reason to believe it is incorrect given the way the vehicle runs & drives. The vehicle must be picked up in Houston, Texas. Happy bidding! Also- as you can see from the added pictures, the frame and undercarriage are in solid condition. The tires are have probably 75% tread on them. Also, I am listing the vehicle locally so reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells. Thanks!
