1979 Chevy LUV Pick Up – 59,000 original miles This LUV is an unusual find - it's not rotted out, and was custom-ordered with an automatic transmission by the original owner. He owned it the rest of his life and drove it once a week to take trash away. He died in August of 2010 and his widow sold it in December. The buyer owned it only briefly - I bought it from him earlier this year. I immediately had it thoroughly checked out, serviced and tuned up. I've driven it very little; just used it to haul some stuff during the relocation of our business. Unlike others, this LUV has only a few small spots of rust, and has been maintained carefully since new. It runs great, and is fine for use as a daily vehicle, or it could be restored to show room quality much more easily than most any vehicle its age. The tires are almost new. As usual, great gas milage. The only glitches I’m aware of: the interior light was taken out by the ‘in-between’ owner and needs replacing; the radio and temperature gauge aren’t working and I haven’t bothered getting them fixed since as the truck operates perfectly; the driver’s side door handle knob is loose and can be changed out with the passenger side one; there is a crack in the dashboard (not on the top where the sun hits, but below the glove compartment). It has a current inspection; not due again until July. I don’t need this truck and would like to see it go to another LUV lover who’d enjoy driving it and showing it off. There's also a 1983 repair manual. Per the requests of bidders I've posted a number of additional photos of the truck. They show the details as described in the original listing. Referring here to rust spots [the most serious location is by the vanes/vents beside the passenger door - see last photo], the crack in the dashboard above & below the glove compartment. See the listing for other notes, including that this is NOT being represented as a show truck. I am only the private owner of this truck and in no way a 'dealer'. Again, it could be fully restored much more easily than most vehicles its age. Some other things to note [typical of a 32 year old vehicle that's actually been used]: the driver side vinyl seat is worn; there is a short separation in a seam in that side of the seat back; the driver side floor mat is worn fairly badly; the rubber door seals could use replacing; as the photos show there is minor surface rust on the lower corner of the driver side door; at the front of the right rear wheel well; above the chrome trim over windows, and I've just remembered that one of the back up lights is out.
