Vehicle Detail
This is a 1931 Willys roadster that was restored in the late '80s. The restorer wanted to make an every day driver out of this car hence the functional turn signals. It has seat belts installed. I was told he also wanted front disc brakes but never got them installed before he died. The next owner mainly just drove the car whenever. I bought it six years ago and have taken good care of it. It has a 1955 Plymouth flat six (six volt) which puts out about twice as much power (120), as the original 6 (65). I have an original Willys flat six with transmission for the car and it will go with the car if you want it. If you send someone out I can load it (the engine and trans) on a truck. It also has a unique electric overdrive transmission which gives you 6 forward gears. Ammeter, Oil press., Speedo, Odometer, Horn work and the lights are fine. I had the wiper mechanism rebuilt. Except for the early 30's AM radio---mounted on the steering column. It only hums when turned on. The chrome driving lights are accessories that I installed. They are not original nor old. I had the carb overhauled. The shifter rod has easily removable foam pipe insulation to save on passenger's knees. The engine starts right up and runs great. I did a complete tuneup and oil change last fall. This is approx. a #2 car with some minor paint cracking but overall it is very presentable and a hoot to drive. It will keep up with freeway traffic if you so desire. Steering is good. It never overheats and has been very reliable---took it through a long parade a few years ago. I also added a Fram remote oil filter that I found off of a '39 Plymouth. The generator has been checked and puts out a normal charge. The gas gauge does not work but should not be too much to fix. It has two 6 volt Orbital batteries in parallel---plenty of cranking power. This is a fancy little roadster with lots of stainless steel and chrome from the factory. Not selling because there is something wrong with it---just need to thin out a few cars and this one is definitely my favorite. On Jun-09-11 at 11:47:07 PDT, seller added the following information: There is a set of very nice side curtains with proper support rods for the car. The interior of the trunk box is metal ---painted black and no rust. On Jun-11-11 at 08:49:24 PDT, seller added the following information: I have a clear title---no lien. Also have an original Model 98-B Operation and Care manual in mint condition to go with it.
