This is a 79 5 speed. This car is in great condition for an un-restored car. It is mechanically near perfect. You can start the car up on the first try and feel safe in driving it any place you would like. It spent most of its life in California in the San Diego area so there is no rust on the car anywhere. It has had its 100k service done. All fluids have been changed including the transaxle. All belts have been changed. The car starts and runs like new. Everything works on this car all the vacuum lines are good even the auto door lock feature works. All the typical problems found on other 928 have been fixed or it does not have them. This is a very well maintained car. Here are some of the few negatives. It has some fading on the interior. It needs some trim pieces in the interior. Yes the dash and instrument pod has some small cracks. The person who owned it before me pulled the a/c compressor out. He said he couldn’t get it to come on. When I started trouble shooting there were a lot of blown fuses. I changed them out and it fixed every problem he said the car had. So my guess is that if you put the compressor back in and charge the system it might work. It needs the back seats reupholstered. · New ANSI exhaust · New front seats (out of a Cayman) · New carpet · New timing belt · New timing belt tensioner · New water pump · New shift ball coupler · New heat shield under the hood With very little work and some time this could be one of the best early 928s on the road.
