I can’t take this car anywhere without someone giving me the thumbs-up or saying something like …cool car dude! …I like your car mister! ...I used to have one of those, then …I got married. When stopped at a light, people actually roll down their window to start a conversion. Original 400ci YT Engine with #16 Iron Heads was refreshed & detailed. Bore is 30 over; crank is 10/10 over. Cast Iron exhaust with aluminized 2½” pipes into FlowMaster 50 series mufflers. Intake is Performer RPM with 750cfm Holley; comes with original intake & carb included. Original Turbo 400 Automatic Transmission was rebuilt & detailed to standard specs. I have added a Hughes 3½ quart cast aluminum pan for added cooling. Original 10 Bolt/8.2”/1:256 Ratio Rear Axle assembly was rebuilt, fitted with a Richmond PowerTrax system & detailed; comes with original (worn) spider gears. Original Multi-leaf spring were disassembled, acid washed, repainted & reassembled Power Steering box & all links have been replaced. Complete Brake System has been rebuilt & detailed. In January ’08 the car was taken down to the metal and will be repainted Meridian Turquoise, the original color. While the paint is good, it is not a show quality finish. If I had the time I would repaint it again to a show finish. The Deluxe White Parchment interior is still original and needs to be replaced. Front seat foam and covers, door panels, sail panels, head-liner, carpet & a new steering wheel, all for under $2000 from Classics Industries will drastically increase the value of this classic. This is an Air-conditioned vehicle, but was missing parts in the engine bay. I have the original condenser box and heater. The vents and tube system is 99% complete and in my possession, just the driver side vent bezel is missing. I was going to fit a Vintage –Air system at a later date. If this is completed the way it should be, it would be worth double my asking price, a true investment in my eyes, to the person that can finish this car, it’s a win/win situation. These rare muscle cars of the sixties continue to skyrocket in value year after year. The Firebird has been stored inside since being in my possession and is on average only driven 1000 miles per year. NEW ITEMS: Gas tank, Radiator, Alternator, Shocks, Brake Shoes, Master & Slave Brake cylinders, BFG tires, American Racing Wheels, Door Hinges, Body to Frame Mounts, Plug wires, Air cleaner, Exhaust System, Door Rubbers & Trunk seals, New Rear Bumper. ...I sure there’s a lot I missed there!
