1973 Volvo 1800ES VIN This Volvo 1800ES is one of 8078 1800ES Sports-wagons made in the limited production 2 year run. This example is fitted with the B20F fuel injected engine, M41 4 speed + OD manual transmission, and the OEM Air Conditioning (Which has been converted to R 134 with a new dryer. The B20 and transmission are original and work great. This is a very well preserved example to say the least. Purchased in North Carolina it has 71,000 miles on it today, we think we are the third ownersThe exterior was painted in lacquer and lacquer clear coat,. All steel trim was re-chromed, show chrome, and is very straight. All stainless steel trim has bee buffed, and all screws replaced with stainless steel screws. All the rubber seals have been replaced with OEM seals. It was damaged when we brought it and it needed a rear panel, rear bumper, rear glass, and both rear 1/4 panels. A wrecker backed over a retaining wall and the back end of the wrecker landed on the back end of the Volvo. All damage occurred behind the rear axle and there are no frame issues, we drove it back to Michigan from North Carolina. The left 1/4 was NOS, all the other panels were used but in really good condition. very minor rust was present on the lower front fenders. No rust on any structural frame areas. The old style P1800 trim(1964) was put on in place of the side trim used on the 1800ES, this really sets this 1800 above the rest and it has a retracting antenna too. The interior is about half original. It has had the upper and lower dash pads replaced, both door trim panels, both front seats reupholstered to original color and in leather. Rear seat was great as was the carpet.Engine bay is stock with fresh fuel hoses, belts, normal maintenance items. The hood matting is new.. The engine starts easily and runs strong as it should. Auxiliary air valve is working on warm up. Good oil pressure both cold and hot. The brakes were recently serviced with new flex hoses and rebuilt calipers. Shocks, tie rods, lower ball joints, fuel tank is plastic coated inside and out, it will never rust again.
