5-27-2011- UPDATE!!! ANOTHER NON RESPONDING BIDDER. SO THIS TIME AROUND ITS A 3 DAY NO RESERVE AUCTION WITH A BIN OF $1700 STARTING BID : YEP YOU GUESSED IT $500 :) BID TO WIN! Hi There, This nice 1992 Jaguar Sovereign was bought in march of 2007 from Missouri and had 203k miles. The Guy who sold it to me was a Jaguar enthusiast and clearly took care of it somewhat... However it needed some work. First major repair was swapping out the rear differential, cost-$3000+ Then a flurry of minor repairs like door seals, door locks, etc... All four shocks have been changed about 2years ago with KYB gas shocks. Transmission fluid changed last summer and 2years before also. rear brake discs and brake pads were installed about two years ago too so you wont have to worry about that. plugs wires and rotors and coils were changed in summer of 2009 along with a new water pump and gasket. New A/C compressor was installed last year along with new harmonic balancer and new belts. In all these I have installed only genuine Jaguar parts or in in other cases known quality brands like Bosch and the like. This winter, I installed a new Blower motor on the left side and installed new brushes for the right side. A/C Blows cold while heat is hot. However I must mention that this car clearly likes warmer weather better than our frigid winters up here, afterall how many cats do you see running around in the snow during winter? I bought this car as a project and had absolutely so plans to sell it. Its not your typical project in that it runs and drives good and i wont hesitate to drive it on a 2000mile trip right now. It also has no rust and is very shiny when you wash and wax it. You'd be hard pressed to find a Jag of this vintage in this kind of cosmetic condition with over 200k miles... But things happen in life and I have to let this car go sadly. However I wont be giving it away. I have it priced fairly considering the vintage and all the work I have done to it. I had plans to rebuild the tranny later this year due to some play felt when downshifting from 4-3.. However keep in mind this is a ZF 4HP 24 EP and anyone who knows about ZF transmissions know that they are very rugged and long-lasting. Needless to say, this transmission is the original. The exhaust system is in very good condition as this was a Texas car before it was sold to the guy in MO. This car is a rust free example unlike many other cats of this vintage. This car is also unique because it is a grey market Jaguar. It was produced for the canadian market before being imported for a lady in texas. You would notice that it has a different VIN in the engine bay to confirm this. Also its hard to find US 92 XJ6 with the round lights 99% of them had the ugly sealed beam headlamps! New tires were installed when i bought it 4years ago and have about 40kmiles on them. they have more than 50% treadlife well and handle properly. The issues i plan to take care of immediately before delivery to the new owner are: Right rear speed sensor wire is lose causing the antilock brake light to come on occasionally. This cat has no radio. radio was working when I got it and it suddenly quit. I kept the original radio with plans to send it to massachusets and have it rebuilt by a radio shop. I wouldn't just throw and random CD player in there because it would look out of place with the classy layout of the interior. The old radio will be included with the car. Also included will be new throttle position sensor (Lucas) which i bought 2 years ago but it never needed it,Offcial Jaguar repair manual with very detailed descriptions of every major system in the car and parts manual too (this would enable the new buyer save a lot of money by doing the work yourself). I kept the original differential because (yeah you guessed it!) I planned to rebuild it and reinstall it in the car, in my quest to keep the cat all original as much as possible. I will include it if you want. The car has a full size spare in the back that was used sparingly with a rim that looks like new. In conclusion, My ideal buyer would be someone who knows a thing or two about Jags and who loves a good example like this and would continue the work i have started. This car always starts right up. the engine is strong and prefers heaver weight oil nothing less than a 40W so 10w40 would be the thinnest you d wanna go. It has a lot of torque and gets 30mpg going at 60mph 70-74mph it gets 24mpg. This is the one car that I have bought that actually lives up to the official gas mileage estimates and even exceeds it if driven properly. My name is Philip and you can call me at 7015520881 this car must be sold so lets deal!:)
