1974 International - Ward LaFrance Fire Truck pumper in excellent condition. Always stored inside since new. Truck is very sound with only 11,735 original miles! 1000 gallon per minute pumper with 500 gallons of water storage. In summer 2007 the fire truck was auctioned by the South Thomaston, Maine fire department as they acquired newer vehicles. I was the successful bidder and had the fire truck delivered to me in Virginia. This truck is fully equipped with V-8 engine, air brakes, 2 speed rear axle, 5 speed transmission, very loud air horn and full siren, although the siren has an electrical problem (possibly a blown fuse?). There are two spotlights, a red revolving beacon on top of cab, plus two red beacons and spotlights at rear. Storage compartments for coats, helmets and equipment are perfect. Interior upholstery is in very nice condition. Lots of large diameter hose and three 14' extension ladders plus pike pole. Includes smaller diameter hose on reel and high power spray nozzle, generator and full documentation with maintenance records. The South Thomaston Fire Department told me that this truck was in full service until 2 weeks prior to the auction when I purchased it. Paint is excellent and no rust (note the gold stripes and lettering). Truck has clear Virginia title and current registration. SHIPPING: This truck is 25'8" long, 9' high, 8'2" wide, and has a gross weight of 33,840 lbs. The truck can be shipped anywhere in the USA on a lowboy trailer. I can assist the buyer arranging shipping but all costs and payments are between the shipping company and the buyer. There is no guarantee of current shipping rates but my experience is that shipping will cost around $1.50 per mile from Fredericksburg Virginia. TERMS: If you are the successful bidder a $1,000 deposit is due within 48 hours of the close of auction and final payment within 5 days of the close of auction. You, or your representative, have five days to inspect the truck. If the truck is not as I have represented, you may decline to go through with the purchase and your deposit will be returned less $150 fee to cover my expenses.
