Vehicle Detail

1965 Volkswagen Microbus This bus has a good engine and good transmission. The engine looks to be all original, including the governor, except for the distributor, which looks to have been updated. Still the original 6 volt system - has a 6 volt battery in it, but you have to jump it to start it. When it starts up, it runs great, idles, doesn't smoke or leak oil - could probably use a muffler. Clutch is good - goes into all the gears - moves on its own power, but it doesn't stop too well! The odometer reads 12,669 - we don't know if that is 112,669 or 212,669. The exact mileage is unknown. This bus has the usual split window rust - the outriggers are rusted and need to be repaired as seen in the pictures. The driver's side frame rail is good - the passenger side frame rail has some rust about 12" up from the torsion bar. In the pictures you can see the wiring harness where the rust in the frame is. The passenger side windshield is cracked, but we have another one that goes with the bus. The rest of the glass is good. The top hinge on the driver's door is loose - you have to lift the door to shut it. There is a dent in the roof above the driver's windshield. The drip edge is good - just surface rust. The latch is missing on the engine compartment. Three tires hold air and the other one will hold air overnight. The interior has a wooden deck as seen in the pictures because this bus in its day was used by a motorcycle shop to haul motorcycles. The front seat is the one-third two-thirds style - it is a non-walk thru bus. This bus is sold in as-is condition - all sales are final. We have the title and the numbers match. If you want to see the bus before you bid, contact us 24 hours before you wish to arrive. The bus will have to be trailered, but it should be easy to load. Buyer is responsible for arranging all shipping. Winning bidder will need to make a PayPal non-refundable deposit of $500.00 within 48 hours of end of auction. If we do not receive the deposit within 48 hours, the bus will be relisted. Full payment must be made by cashier's check or COD within 14 days of end of auction - if final payment is not received within 14 days, you will lose your deposit and the bus will be relisted. The bus must be picked up within 14 days of end of auction. Any questions - please ask.
