Vehicle Detail
Rare, Beautiful, Highly Optioned 1954 Chevrolet Bel-Air Just in time for Summer-Time Cruise-ins! I have for auction my 1954 Chevrolet Bel-Air. This vehicle has had a total frame-on restoration. This is a highly optioned beauty with the rare combination of Automatic Power Glide Transmission, Power Brakes, and Power Steering. The numbers matching engine and tranny were professionally rebuilt 2 years ago this month and have about 4000 miles on them. All of the paint and body work has been professionally done. I have all receipts and they come with the car. This car runs and drives as it should. Bid with confidence- you will not be disappointed. The pictures show the car with wide whitewall tires but they have been replaced with modern narrow whitewall radials. The wide whitewalls come with the car already mounted on a separate set of professionally painted wheels. One of the wide whites went bad and I have not replaced them. All of the wide whites need to be replaced in my opinoin. I had them on another car and put them on this one when I sold that one. The remaining three that are "good", have alot of tread left but they are old and need to be replaced. See pics on these. You will get both sets of wheels and tires. Windshield wipers and horn do not work. I have replacement NOS wiper transmissions that come with the car, I just don't want to install them (never really needed to). The horn needs a new relay. Those are the only things on this car that don't work-oh, except for the cigarette lighter. The original radio plays great but the antenna is not hooked up. I have installed an aftermarket stereo/cd player that just sets on the floor in a custom built period looking box and the antenna is hooked to that. It can be easily removed, which I do for car shows, if you want the stock look. This is not a professional show quality car. It is a very nice driver. It is not a 20 footer either- it is a 2 footer. I have won over 20 trophies (over half 1rst place) with this car at local shows the past few years. If you have any questions please call Larry at 636-575-8506. Following is a list of what has been done to the car and the factory/dealer options. Engine rebuilt: New cam/lifters, all new cam/main bearings, rings, head ground/rebuilt, cylinders honed, new hardened valves and pistons (to use unleaded gasoline), New radiator hoses and heater hoses, New belts, Starter rebuilt, Generator rebuilt, New regulator, Radiator rebuilt, New water pump, New plugs/wires, Distributor rebuilt, New coil, Carb rebuilt, New Exhaust-front to back, New timing chain/gears, New oil pump, New vacuum advance, New battery cables-both, New battery tray and hold down, New headlight junction blocks, power steering pump rebuilt, and I am sure I am forgetting a few other items. Tranny rebuilt- kickdown works as it should. Shifts smooth and quiet. I forgot this- gear shift indicator is broken- you can get one for $20 if you want. Interior is totally redone- new headliner, seats, new carpet, windlace, paint. Windlace is showing wear on drivers door and the interior drivers door panel is showing minor wear also-not anything bad, but is worn. I do drive and enjoy this car ya know. Speedometer is on 69 miles and is unhooked. I had it rebuilt and drove it to test it and unhooked it. I can hook it back up in about 30 seconds if you want or you can do it. Trunk is finished nicely too. Heater works as it should and fan blows nice warm air in the winter. Roll the windows down for air conditioning! Most all of the chrome was redone. The front grill upper bar was not done and could stand a fresh coat but it is not bad at all - really. Front brakes and brake cylinders have been done as well as the front wheel bearings. Have not had to do anything to the rear brakes and the rear end has not been touched. All in good working order. Parking brake works, holds, and releases as it should. Headlights and tail lights have been replaced. Have an extra new headlight that is included also. Factory/Dealer Options: GM two tone paint: Turquoise and India Ivory (original colors), Bel-Air trim package, full wheel covers, fender covers (skirts), clock (works, well it runs, but doesn't keep time), junction block, glove box lamp, cigarette lighter, GM 235 cid-six cylinder- 125 hp Blue Flame Engine- built in Flint MI, GM Automatic-2 speed Powerglide transmission, GM power assist steering, GM power assist brakes, Heater and Defroster, Radio and Antenna (manual), Safety light and mirror (spotlight with mirror, works), Front fender gravel shields, door handle shields, windshield washer (sorry, that doesn't work, but looks cool), tissue dispenser (I have the original box of tissues that were in the car, not in great shape but I will include), Front fender markers, Vent shades (for the doors), Sun Visor- exterior (this single part cost me $800 to buy and restore), original locking gas cap, accelerator pedal cover, GM exhaust extension, Front fender grill guard, Fog/safety lights (work), gasoline door filler guard, door edge guards, rear bumper guards You couldn't even buy all these parts for the price of the car! I have over $24,000 invested and the reserve is half that. You will be hard pressed to find another one as nice for the price! This car was built in Kansas City, MO and is the 47,679th out of 248,750 built that year. If you are local please feel free to come and inspect the car! Take it for a drive! Be warned if you do, you will probably take it home with you. Serious buyers only pretty please...... $500 deposit due within 24 hours of the end of the auction through PayPal. Total balance payment due within seven (7) days by Certified Bank Check, Certified Cashiers Check, or Cash. This is a great car so bid with confidence. I have 100% positive feedback. Buyer is responsible for shipping and pick up of the car. I will definitely assist a transporter with the loading of the car. There is absolutely no warranty included or implied with this car. It is a 57 year old vehicle after all.
