Vehicle Detail

1969 Corvair Monza Convertible, one of 521- 1969 convertible’s that were made according to all the information to date. It has the rare exterior color code 67(Burgundy) and was re painted in acrylic lacquer just like it came from the factory in, with a black interior. 59,000 original miles. This is a matching numbers car! Engine, transmission and diff all have the body code # 1888 stamped on them. This is a 99% rust free body. Options include, AM radio, Full Tinted Glass, Gas Door Guard, Chrome door guards, clock, Spare Tire Lock, 110 HP Engine, 4 Speed Transmission. Totally rebuilt the original 110 hp engine using NOS GM jugs pistons and ring assemblies. Crank cleaned checked (Standard Spec’s) & polished using cleveite main and rod bearings. Cam checked for wear (Standard Spec’s as well ). Gear checked for play & found in spec’s as well. Lifters were found to still be flat, replaced in their exact bores as to not cause any abnormal ware from original cam lobes. All new HD clutch disk ,seal and throw out bearing installed with a bolted flywheel. New Clark’s repo spring clip battery cables with a new battery installed for super dependability. Heads were completely torn down cleaned deflashed and all new valves-springs-keeper’s-seals installed with a 3 angle valve job. Engine sounds like a new corvair engine with NO noises, idle’s extremely smooth and runs very crisp and quite. Electronic ignition was installed on the distributor as to keep the running the same and efficient. NOS 69 carbs were installed with all new gas lines fuel pump, and correct AC 44FF plugs and wires. New strut rod bushings were installed. Original smog pump was cleaned, de-veined and RE-installed back on engine. How many do you see with this factory installed part on any 1968-1969 Corvair today? And there were many 1966-67 Corvairs made in California only models that had this as well. New Clark’s heavy duty top installed with all new top bow & side seals installed. NOS manual top hold down bars. All new door-trunk-eng weather strips. Rebuilt starter, Replated door handles, polished door locks, all NOS GM emblems & rear cove trim, including NOS set of tail light assemblies. New carpet was installed along with new door sill plates. New premium heater hoses and a new set of thermostats. New fuzzes and complete working set of genuine GM factory T-3 headlights. A new tinted windshield was installed; new tires and brakes were put on this year. This car starts, runs and shifts very crisp smooth and extremely quiet inside while driving down the road. You will enjoy this car driving it as well as showing it off, one very rare, unique and super sharp corvair to own, drive and display…..This Corvair is as close to a factory original 1969 Corvair as you can get without being a trailer queen. It even has an original 1969 Texas Map in glove box. We just got back from the Helen Georgia corvair spring event, drove over 1,000 miles and the car got 26.17 mpg in the mountains using regular gas. I had 2 other passengers and a full trunk . (See pictures of gas receipts below) Car had NO problems what so ever, used only a speck of oil. See pictures below. The car is designed to use 87 Octane fuels which make it easy on the pocket book to drive to these events. A huge bonus! NO pinging or knocking what so ever with no diminishment of power. We also went on the tour they had around the mountain roads and the car ran flawless, did not overheat! Stall or quit, brakes worked as they should no fading! Nothing needs to be done to this car! it drives out, ready for summer fun.
