Vehicle Detail
Here is a January 1930 standard roadster that is a vary rare car indeed. First, it has factory mounted eyebrow front fenders...wirh wheel wells! As you know most cars out there have had the dual sidemounts added, and not factory installed. In fact research indicates that factory ones are almost non existant. This car has had an older restoration, and the body has never been removed. The mounts for the spare tire arms are factory riveted into the frame...not bolted on as seen on later additions. The body and doors are very solid without patch panels, and the floor pans are original with the exception of the pan in the trunk over the differential. Car runs great, and no oil leaks. The brakes were recently rebuilt, and car rewired. This is not a deluxe roadster as they were not offered until October of 1930. It is a driver qualiy as is but would be a great car to make show worthy, given it's rarity. It bears all of the early features, including forged fender braces and the early style emergency brake crossover shaft. This car is locally advertised so offers will be accepted if you meet my price. Local buyers welcomed to come by and see it. . On May-04-11 at 07:39:47 PDT, seller added the following information: Listed late last night so didn't finish description. When I got this car it had a rumble seat installed and the car came with a trunk. I got rid of that lid and bought a very nice original trunk lid to convert it back as original. This lid is currently primed and on the car. There are also front original shocks on the car that work. no rears. The frame and undercarriage is rust free, and engine had been rebuilt. Engine matches the title, and from the numbers it was made in early January, 1930. I will add more pics today. They are the original ones with original latches that work fine. The doors are 100 percent rock solid, no rust ever or body work. And they fit fine, and the subrails are also rust free. This car came from out west. Also I have had questions about "what are eyebrow fenders"...they are fenders with raised bead all the way out front, and were put on cars , in January to mid February 30, then discontinued, probably because of tooling issues. And they were probably special order, as few cars have them. These are the only pair of welled fenders that I know of. Also forgot to mention, the seat springs were new when it was restored years ago, and I have a brand new set of door and kick panels, correct pattern that go with the car.
