Vehicle Detail

This car is being sold "AS IS" ,"Where Is" As A 45 year old Project car needing restoration. The car is located in Northern Westchester county N.Y. About 1 hour north of Manhattan. The car is located in zip code 10547.Pickup and transport of the car would be the responsibility of the winning bidder.Although the car does run, move, steer ,and stop, I feel the car should be towed to be safe. I bought this car about 3 years ago as a driver project,Unfortunately I have no time or space for it so I've done nothing with it except store it(I have too many other projects). It is A 1966 Ford Mustang coupe "SPRINT" edition. 6 cylinder ,Automatic, It Runs and drives(around my yard,I've never driven it on the street). The car Has some new/recent parts such as the fuel pump, rebuilt carburetor,Good used fuel tank ,tune up,Tie rods, strut rod bushings,Ignition switch, Headlight switch, New front brakes, wheel cylinders all around, some of the hard metal brake lines were replaced as well The floors appear to have been replaced in the past,The carpet appears to have been changed at that time as well. The interior looks original and the drivers seat is ripped. Some items of note that will need repair: The horn does not work, the gauges don't work, the radio doesn't work, there is an exhaust leak at the manifold,The cowl vent assembly leaks as the front carpet gets wet if the car is left out in the rain,so obviously that will need attention as well. The car is presentable as a beater/daily driver but it could benefit from a full restoration (Body panel replacement, new paint,New chrome, etc). I suspect there is filler in the doors and quarters as well as other areas of the body but I couldn't say for sure. There are also dents on various panels (quarters, rear valence, front fenders,etc.). As far as the mileage I don't know if 85045 is original mileage? It could be 185045, 285045,etc. I can say that the car spent a good 20 years or so off the road sitting in a garage before it went to the shop where I found and bought it.The underside appears to be relatively sound, I will try to include some photos during the listing period unfortunately I don't have a lift. The rims are American Racing rims, The tires have plenty of tread but they are dryrotted. That said if the winning bidder prefers stock steel 4 lug rims and standard 66 Hubcaps , I can supply them instead of the American racing mags or in addition for a reasonable cost.Winning bidder to let me know ahead of time so I can make proper arrangements. Thanks This car is currently registered in my name in the state of Maine, I had intended to possibly tow it up there and store it in a family members barn but I've decided to sell it instead. This car will be sold with that paper work as well as a bill of sale signed by me. I know each state has their own rules for registering classic cars,so please check with your local DMV. That said I will sign any paper work that is needed by the winning bidder to facilitate the registering of this car. Door Tag info is as follows: 6T07T219736 65A 5 D6 09C 13 2 6 BODY COLOR TRIM DATE DSO AXLE TRANS which decodes to a 66 automatic six cylinder coupe built in Metuchen New Jersey with a Signal flare red exterior and a Standard Parchment with black appointments interior. I also happen to have a copy of the build sheet ,which is kind of a rare sight it's not in perfect shape (see photo). I would say that this car is a Good candidate for a Driver project or a Full resto.I have done my best to disclose everything that I know about this car good or bad. if a particular item was not addressed by me please assume that it needs repair.I encourage any and all interested parties to please come and view the car prior to bidding.Payment for this car will be in the form of Cash at pickup.I ask that the car be picked within 7 days of auction close unless a agreement has been made prior to the auctions end. Please email me with any and all questions. I am taking this listing very seriously so please do not bid if you have low or negative feedback .I've set a reasonable reserve on this car so please bid to own. Good luck and happy bidding,Thanks
