Up for sale is our 1977 Leyland Mini. We hate to sell it, but we’re moving overseas, and it can’t come with us. This is a No Reserve Auction - not thrilled about the risk, but it has to go. It was shipped over from England in May 2005 by a man that bought two minis. He kept the older one, and sold this one to me. It is an authentic 1977 Mini, not re-bodied or altered in any way and has clear, US title. This car has been cared for very well over the past 33 years. It has been in active use ever since it came from the factory – never sitting and rotting away. For the 5 years that I have had it, I drove it regularly and kept it in the garage. A couple of summers back, it basically saved my business because of rising gas prices. It runs strong, is very reliable and is literally a daily driver. All I have done since purchasing it is routine maintenance. I have done as follows: 1) Replace brakes all the way around – shoes, cylinders, adjusters. Master cylinder replaced as well 2) New starter 3) New water pump and thermostat 4) New valve cover gasket 5) New battery The paint is the original color, and was repainted at some point before being shipped over. The engine is the original 998cc. It runs very strong and is smoke free. Oil pressure idles at 30 psi, drives at 60 psi. The transmission is also solid – no slipping. Shifts smoothly, engages easily and stays in gear. Clutch is strong. The wheels are 10” Black Mambas The odometer shows 57000. There are some spots where the paint is bubbling – see pictures. In the trunk is the largest spot – caused by a corrosive battery. Floors are solid. Doors, hood and trunk all close easily and fit perfect. All in all, the car is in excellent shape and it has years of service left in it. It is 33 years old, but if you want a beautiful mini that can be a driven daily, this is the one for you.
