Up for auction is this 1984 Vanagon factory Westfalia camper. Runs and drives well and is a great vehicle to enjoy with the family this Summer and for years to come. All everyday electrical works as it should: wipers, lights, turn signals, rear heater, front heater/defroster, horn, etc. Engine runs well and the transmission shifts as it should. No noticeable leaks on the ground. The transmission does have a low whine from the differential but is something that is tolerable. Tires are all in good condition. Brakes work as they should. Original pop top canvas is functional but does have a split in one side that could be repaired or used as is without any problems. All original interior in good condition for it's age. Front drivers seat bottom seams have a couple of splits. Camper equipment has not been tested but is complete and visually is in very good condition. Speedometer works but is reading off on the MPH by about 20% - possibly could be recalibrated. I would say this van is about 50% original paint which is mainly on the nose and passenger side. Has a couple nicks, dings, and scrapes as well as some paint blends and filler...Does not appear to have been in any serious accidents. Has some rust bubbles around the front and rear window that have been brush touched. Underside of the van appears to be solid with no serious rust. Comes with the original jack, front curtain, extra belts, and the rear mosquito net. Overall this is a good Westy that can be enjoyed now without putting a whole lot of money or energy into it, however as you likely know there are an abundance of resources available to add comforts and personalize to your taste.
