1984 Buick Riviera Convertible The Facts: · Red with red interior and white top · 307 cid V8 engine · 76,750 miles - second owner · Wire wheel covers · Recent inspection, almost new tires, almost new brakes · Engine compartment is very clean as is the trunk · Top is in good condition with full headliner and car has the correct original top boot. What is wrong? · The paint is fair, with top surfaces showing some fine crazing and hazyness while the side surfaces look great. I had this checked by a professional body shop and they said it may be as simple as wet sanding the top surfaces and clear coating them to the tune of few hundred dollars. But worse case scenario is it gets one coat of paint on the top surfaces. The shop estimated about $1,500 if repaint is needed. They didn’t recommend doing a complete repaint since the rest of the paint is very good. · The other issues are the plastic filler panels behind the bumpers, these are of course cracked and broken. While fixing the paint, you may as well replace these and the emblem that surrounds the trunk key. · Driver seat is not working (don’t know why) and the radio is not working (don’t know why) Conclusion The car may need $1,000 worth of work or $3,000 – I don’t know. The bottom line is this car is very nice but not perfect. It could be used as is with no regrets or upgraded if you are so inclined. I’m listing this for a sick friend so be patient with any questions as I have to talk to the family. The car is available for inspection at a mutually agreeable time.
