Vehicle Detail
This Caddy is a project just waiting for the right person to come along - a diamond in the rough. Although, complete inside and out, this car is definitely a fixer-upper. The body is super straight and shows surface rust where the paint has given out. There is one small half-dollar size spot on the trunk area with some rust damage- it looks like a burst metal bubble. There is a dent in the left rear taillight surround whch I have included a picture of. All the glass and chrome is intact - as far as I can tell - except for a small plastic piece around the right headlight and one small straight piece- about 3 inches long - that runs along the inside of the right headlight. The engine does NOT run, but it is factory, complete, just locked up from sitting for so long. Factory equipped with all the bells and whistles when new and has never been modified. This car needs a total restoration inside and out, but it has great bones. We are the third owners and it has spent its whole life in southwest Missouri. The second owner bought it when it was just a few years old and loved it. When he passed away in 1985, his son drove it home, parked it, and never did anything else with it. We got it two and a half years ago and haven't had time for it. My husband has too many projects to devote his attention to already, so the Caddy has to go. This vehicle DOES NOT run, so the winning bidder will have to make arrangements to haul it. On Apr-26-11 at 17:18:49 PDT, seller added the following information: We just discovered some rust damage in the trunk area. The seal around the the trunk lid failed, allowing water to get into the trunk and the metal lip the seal is seated on has deteriorated. We removed the rotted carpet to check trunk and found a dime sized hole through the floor in the back. As far as I have been able to determine, this is the worst damage on the body. If you have any questions about the car, please ask before bidding and I will be more than happy to answer them.
