Vehicle Detail

The opportunity to purchase a fully restored vintage Model A dressed out as a 1930 Police Squad is extremely rare, usually only seen in high-dollar auctions every few years. Here is my personal 1930 Ford Tudor Sedan that was painstakingly restored from 2009 to 2010 at a popular Texas Model A Ford shop. Hundreds of hours of labor and over $20k in parts and materials went into the frame-off resto, and it shows! The chassis was stripped, and everything rebuilt, refinished or replaced. Just a short list includes the fresh two stage basecoat/clearcoat paint, a new top, new chrome trim, new stainless steel bumpers, powdercoated wheels, new tires/tubes, new safety glass throughout, rebuilt gauges, new wiring harness, rebuilt original Ames Ahoogah horn, rebuilt steering box, new lights and switches throughout, etc., etc. etc. In addition to the restoring of this fine, all steel sedan (no fiberglass or bondo here!), many improvements were made for both comfort and safety. Built as a touring car (with only two tours and less than 1600 miles since completion) this wonderful Model A was equipped with a Ford Synchromesh 4-speed overdrive transmission (a $3500 conversion), FS Electronic ignition, 12 volt charging system and battery, Modern Zenith carburetion, Rebuilt radiator with overflow tank added, Seat belts, electric windshield wiper, Halogen headlights with built-in turn signals, LED taillights, new seat frames-springs-upholstery, Modern shock absorber upgrade all around, and AIR CONDITIONING! For the purist, the auction also includes the original, fully rebuilt and restored distributor and Zenith carb, which can be switched out for show judging, etc. This car is no trailer queen, but shows quite nicely anyway! Finally, to really stand out in a crowd or lead local parades, the Sedan was fitted with working Flashing Red lights (check your local ordinances before using them!), Period correct working Siren, POLICE front bumper placard, front and rear assessory Police push/pull bars on the bumpers, vinyl (and therefore, removable) POLICE lettering on rear-hood-doors. There are a couple of photos included that show the car before the Police equipment was added, so you know what it would look like if you just want a touring sedan. Also, I tried to capture a couple of small imperfections in the paint, like the chip inside the passenger door frame (doesn't show when door is closed), but as you see-the paint has a mirror-like finish. Imperfections are very few, but it is over 80 years old, so they are to be expected! The final photo was taken during a filmed re-enactment of the Bonnie and Clyde bank robbery scene in Pilot Point, TX. The car will drive all day in overdrive at 60+, steers straight as an arrow, rides smoother than it did when new, and is twice as dependable. Everything on the car works as it should. The 1930 Texas license plates can go with the car, as it is currently registered with them, but if you don't want or need them, you can deduct $300 from your winning bid. Shipping is at buyer's expense. I can assist with loading or will deliver the car to you once the car is paid for, at a fee of $1 per loaded mile from Wylie, TX. You can fly into DFW or Dallas Love Field where I can meet you, and you can drive the car home, if you prefer. If you have zero feedback, please contact me before bidding, or I will cancel your bid-I have no time for games and foolishness! Medical retirement forces the sale of this car, which I never intended to part with-my loss is your gain---you will never see another exactly like this one!
