Vehicle Detail
1955 Chevrolet Pickup 3100 Custom What your looking at is a custom built 1955 Chevrolet Pickup that was built by me with the help of some friends. I've been building this truck for the last 6 years and now that its almost finished, I decided that I wanted to change quite a few things cosmetically. I.E. the grille, headlights, dash, change to a big back window, taillights ETC. Not because there's anything wrong with it, I just want it to be different. I drove this truck daily for a few years till fuel prices went up. This truck is a head turner and a show winner. Won a few trophies in the past years Rose City Roundup - 2009 Peoples choice Billetproof NW - 2009 Best Primer Rod Run to the end of the World - 2009 Sponsors Pick NW Underconstruction Show - 2009 Sponsors Pick Paint Primer under all the paint is Mar-Hyde High build primer and Sherman Williams Etching primer Exterior - Sherman Williams Custom Purple Pearl Satin with a Sherman Williams Eggshell White Base coat with Silver Bass Boat metalflake Interior - Sherman Williams Eggshell White on the upper half of the cab with a Silver Bass Boat metalflake dash that has been lightly buffed to cut down on the glare. Bottom half is a Sherman Williams Midnight Black Pinstriping was done by Bryan "Bubba" Scott Customization Front end has been customized with 1954 Buick Headlights Frenched in 3 inches along with a 1952 Ford pickup grille with two extra teeth. The front end has been stretched down 2inches to accomidate for the larger grille and to make the front end look lower. The Front bumper is a stock 1955 Chevrolet Pickup front bumper that has had three inches taken out of the center. The upper front door corners have been rounded to look more appealing The outer lower 12 inches of the doors have been replaced Replace the rear cab corners Replace the drivers side lower hinge pocket Replace all door hinges Door handles have been shaved Bed stake pockets have been shaved Tailgate has been frenched in and is non-functional. Bed sides have been rounded and molded into the tailgate for a smooth transition Rear Taillights are 1951 Ford car taillights that have been frenched and molded into the fenders. 70/30 split tonneau cover for the bed. Fuel cell sits behind the cab in the bed in the upper 30% of the split. All body seems interior/exterior have been welded up and smoothed out. Suspension Front suspension is a 1980 Chevrolet C-10 pickup IFS that has been stepped up 6 inches. Sitting on double convoluted airbags. Rear suspension is "Z" notched 6 inches and has a Triangulated 4-link suspension with double convoluted airbags. Suspension is controlled with 8 electric valves and a switchbox (Switchbox used to had 10 switches, but I took out all but 4) Full ride height is 6 1/4 inches. Aired out, it sits 1/4 in off the ground Frame sits on the ground with the help of a 2x4 box tube bar in the back and frame horn extensions in the front. Tires are 3in Bias-Ply white walls on steel wheels covered up by 1954 Cadillac hubcabs. Interior Seats and door panels are covered in a grey fabric Dash has been shaved of the original radio Floor has insulation laid down. All glass is brand new. Front/Rear windshield, Wing windows and main door windows. NOT TINTED either green or grey. Powertrain Engine is a 1968 Truck 327 with a mild Advertised Duration 262/272, Lift .420/.442 cam. Edelbrock Performer Intake and a 650CFM carburator. Engine has been re-ringed, re-bearinged and re-gasketed. Heads have been rebuilt and milled flat Transmission is a 1975 truck Turbo Hydra-matic 350 that was suppose to be rebuilt when installed. Thing shifts solid and feels like it has a shift kit. Rearend is a 1963 Chevrolet Truck rearend Brakes are all drum brakes Front are off a 1966 chevrolet pickup Manual Steering Cons - Interior is not finished, paint has some flaws in it. Has been keyed on the drivers side fender (not deep, but went to the primer), Drivers side rear fender had something drop on it.
