You are looking at my all original 1978 chevrolet scottsdale 4x4! The truck has a v8,350 engine backed by a turbo 350 automatic transmission. The transfer case and transmission shift in and out as they should. The motor runs good and strong with no smoke. The truck has around 101,500 miles on it and thats all original. Nothing has been rebuilt. The original owner put headers on it for fuel economy and had true dual exhaust run and turned down infront of the back axle. Gives it a little rumble while idleing! The interier is in great shape, the original dash is still smooth and shiney with no cracks, the windows roll up and down smooth and the seat is perfect. The truck has factory air and will blow, just not cold.. The compressor kicks on, prolly needs freon. Here's the story.. The truck was bought new here in Savannah Tn. The original owner ended up in a nursing home and was parked for 3 years till he passed away. Once he passed away his family put the truck up for sale to help with the bills. Thats when i bought it. The truck ran but kinda rough. I replaced the plugs and wires and changed the oil and had the carb,quadrajet, cleaned and installed an inline fuel filter just to help better filter the fuel. I noticed one of the valve covers were leaking and i put a new gasket on that side. The truck cranks up and runs great. My great uncle worked at the dealership where the truck was bought new. he said the guy was a fanatic about the truck. The bed ended up with some scratches in the inside from hauling something and he had the whole bed repainted, he bought a brand new set or goodyear wranglers for it every year.Right before he was put in the nursing home he had all new shocks installed. This truck has truely been babied and will make someone a great truck and wouldnt take a whole lot to make her a show winner! I took the side moldeing off because it was hanging and flopping in the wind. Keep in mind this is a 1978 model that hasnt been tampered with. Dont come or call expecting a 2010 with a warranty. Its not a race car, i dont know if it will smoke the back tires or how fast it will run or how deep it will go in the mud. Ive owned the truck since about 2006 and have done nothing but drove it around town and out to our farm fishing. The truck has never let me down not once. It has a few rusty spots in the bed sides and cab corners are looking like a little rust is coming thru. The truck has original paint (except bed which i described above) that still shines but thin in spots. Also have chrome rings from door panels i just havent re installed them. All in all the truck for its shape and age and being original id give it an 8 out of a 10. The truck turnes heads everytime i go thru town. The only reason im selling is im currently enrolled in school and need the money for the next semester to help out with books and other bills. I have clear TN title and do not have to sell so no low ballers. I do not have to sell it would just make things a little easier on me and i hate to see it just sitting and i dont have the time or funds to fix it up like id like to. Like i said before.. THIS TRUCK IS A 1978..ITS NOT NEW! I drive the truck pretty regular, atleast once a week to haul the trash off and go to my moms to eat lunch on sunday just to keep it running. Dureing the summer i drive it more just because its so fun to drive. I really enjoy it.Im not trying to ramble on and on i just try to answer all questions before im asked to eliminate tire kickers.
