This 65 Thunderbird was in the process of being restored by the previous owner The 390 motor was removed, totally rebuilt and replaced at a cost to him of $2950...it seems likely it's the original motor for this car, but that has not been verified The automatic transmission seemed to function properly during the test drive period The front brakes are power assisted disc brakes from the factory, the rears are drum....functioned properly, indicated normal wear, would recommend changing the master cylinder as just a normal precaution The power windows in the doors work fine, the rear quarter windows do not This is an A/C car....the control cluster with the levers is missing from the dash...have seen them for about $30....condensor, some hardlines are present in engine compartment....missing compressor and some brackets , Previous owner had new interior installed....white headliner, yellow and white seat upholstery.....carpet is ( yikes! ) yellow, but could be dyed to black....interior cost him $750 He also put new whitewall radial tires All four hubcaps are there....car came with rear skirts The body trim in stainless and chrome is all there and in very good condition...as is all the glass including the windshield which is free of wiper blade scratches or chips The areas of concern on the body include the need to replace the floor pan area under the drivers feet and some spots in the trunk-the trunk floor itself seems fine There is a rust area about 2" in diameter in front of the driver's side rear skirt, well above the rocker....an unusual spot but an easy fix The driver door latches closed but does not completely close to be in proper alignment There is evidence of some prior body work being done, but no reason to suspect major collision damage ever on the car Engine should receive a tune-up....fires up well but I will not represent it as a daily driver until the master cylinder is changed-it looks like the original....and some new belts and hoses are changed because of sitting
