Vehicle Detail

1982 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 I've had this Cruiser for just under two years and love it... But the IRS just sent me some hate mail (as in I owe) and it's technically a toy. So it has to go. It's immaculate inside and pretty good outside. I had a new (rebuilt) engine put in at roughly 244,000 and it's running extremely strong. A quick listing of the good and the bad: The Good GeneralLooks greatStrong running4WD in this thing is the real deal - it will get you nearly anywhere. But if you're looking at this, you probably already know that. Interior feels like a luxury vehicle Completely re-done inside New headlinerNew Carpet throughout New interior doorsNew leather seats front and backNew matching Tuffy lock box center console with padded leather arm rest, huge locking storage area and two great cupholdersSound SystemSony Bluetooth compatible CD player (I stream tunes from my iPhone)MBQuartz custom shallow speakers in the lower rear door (don't require a build out)MBQuartz tweeters up frontExteriorThe paint's either original or an older job, but it looks great for the most part (there are parts that don't - see "The Bad" for details)Brush guard in perfect conditionHalogen fog lightsMechanicalNew, Rebuilt Engine at roughly 244,000. Same Toyota-licensed, Chevy short block 6-cylinder that it came with originally. New brakes, front back and master cylinderNew alternatorNew clutchThe Bad A Little Rust. There's rust on the under side of the rear, passenger side window. The window needs to be taken off, the rust sanded off/repainted and the window put back on. I've done my best to get a good picture of this (see photos). The Air Conditioning. AC blows fine, but it needs a charge to get back to cold. Drag Link. If I were going to keep it, I'd replace the drag link in the next 90 days, as the steering's getting a little loose.Tint Scratches. There are a couple of places where there's small scratches in the tint - one from skis and one from my three year old's toy excavator.Front Brake Fluid Leak. It's so small that my Toyota guy couldn't find it, but he knows it's there. Said the only way to determine where it is would be to drive the truck for a couple of hours on a bone dry day and then bring it in. It's small, but significant enough that I noticed a performance issue and brought it in to be fixed. My guy says that, assuming the leak is unaddressed, it'll need to be checked every 18 months or so.The Jealousy. You drive this truck and you're going to get a lot of people looking and a few offers to buy it from random folks...Hopefully the pictures will tell the rest of the story. I'm new at this, so if there's anything specific you'd like to know or see, let me know and I'll do my best.
