Vehicle Detail
1998 Volvo S70 GLT - 4 Door - Automatic Transmission - Cold AC - 180,932 Miles Don't let the mileage fool you. Runs and drives real strong - no knocks, slippage, leaks, smoking or engine misfire. Tires are excellent and the brakes feel fine. Drive it home! But, we cannot give any warranty or guarantees! Body is clean, minor scratches and scrapes. Paint is excellent and shines nice. Interior is OK - a little wear on the driver seat. Passenger front door will not open from the inside, feels like a connector rod popped out of the latch mechanism. Opens from the outside. Sunroof works. When taking the car out of park you must hit the shift release button. I don't know why. The battery was dead when we picked up the car and we drove it 150 miles to reset the onboard computer for a successful emission inspection. The computer, however, did not reset (needs more driving - no "Check Engine" light). In NY, the emission part of the inspection process is very strict. If a battery goes dead or an illuminated “Check Engine” light is reset, the onboard computer has to relearn information that determines if the vehicle’s various systems are functioning properly (i.e. catalytic converter efficiency or proper air/fuel mixture). Sometimes a vehicle needs to be driven hundreds of miles for the computer to relearn this information. It is sometimes easier to sell such a vehicle out of state where these inspection laws don’t apply or the new owner can drive the car with purpose instead of wasting time and gasoline in order to accomplish the computer reset. If the “Check Engine” light should pop back on (sometimes for something as insignificant as a loose gas cap), the process starts all over again! More miles of driving aimlessly with time and fuel waste. Since I have given up wasting time paying a driver and fuel costs, I am selling it to the highest bidder in "As Is" condition. Due to it's inability to pass NY State's emission inspection, NY residents are unable to bid or buy... New York residents are unable to bid or buy unless they are a registered car dealer, registering/re-titling the vehicle out of state or are using it for “Parts Only”. As a registered NY State dealer I am unable to sell a car that won’t pass inspection to a NY State resident. Anyone else can bid and buy. Sorry, I don’t make the rules but as a used car dealer I must abide by them. Any questions call 516-228-1016 and leave a message if I’m not in. Please don’t wait until the last day or last few hours to contact me. I will pick you up at the train or bus station. Winning bidder please leave a $200.00 deposit in PayPal within 48 hours of the auction close. If I don't receive the deposit within the 48 hours I will relist the car. Please plan on picking this vehicle up within 15 days of the auction close unless you have made prior arrangements with me before bidding. If the vehicle is left after 15 days your deposit becomes non-refundable and I will relist the vehicle. If the winning bidder is not happy after road test and examination I will cancel the sale and refund your deposit. “A bid on eBay is considered a contract, and you're obligated to purchase the item.” We reserve the right to end this auction early as the vehicle may be shown locally. Good luck and thanks for looking!
