Vehicle Detail
Folks, This bike is hard for me to describe. With that being said, I snagged some specs off od a cut sheet to share with you about this king of cruisers. First of all, this is my THIRD Valkyrie. The First Interstate I had was Blue/Silver and was hard to find. I sold it in a moment of weakness and and within 30 days was craving the sound of the Cobra 6 Pack Gowl. I purchased a Gold and Ivory Standard that I still have and love. (Will probably never sell it.) I found this beauty last August, 4 weeks after I wrecked a dirt bike and goofed up my left knee. Knowing that my knee would be just fine, I bought it, had it loaded on a trailer, took it straight to the Honda dealer and had it checked out. They delivered it to my house. (I still could not walk very well) and they put it in my garage. I have been cleaning, adjusting, polishing and prepping this bike for this time right now. I wanted to have another cruiser for me and my wife. This bike is perfect except, my knee keeps popping in and out when I lift the Dragon off of the stand. I cannot take that chance with my wife on the back. So, I have worked on this bike for 7 1/2 months and you get the benifit. (I even removed the fuel tank and replaced the air filter - I have the photo if you want to see it.) The first owner ran it up and down the highway in NC, That is why it has 50K on the Odo. I took it out yesterday for a long country ride. It fired right up, growled like a dragon and while at the gas station, I performed the old nickel on the engine test for one of my riding buddies. Needless to say, He was impressed - Any engine that smooth is just fine! Here are the original Specs: (I have some goodies at the end - Someone will end up with a head turning Valkyrie - This bike Sounds as Good as it looks!) ************************************************************************************** • 2001 Honda GL1500CF Valkyrie Interstate. It has the Cobra Six into Six Exhaust System that sets this bike apart from all others. While I was cleaning the bike, I went ahead and wired in a 12 volt receptacle into the Left Radiator Pod , I ran an Aux. 3.5 mm Extension from the on-board stereo, plug the GPS or MP3 player in, flip the source to AUX. and listen to YOUR tunes while riding down the highway! Since I had the Pods off, I went ahead and pre-wired two lighted flip switched onto the Right Radiator Pod. The Switches are properly grounded, fused and the two power lines are tucked inside the the pods, neat and ready for you to add lights or other switched auxillary items to the bike. When I had the bike dropped off at the dealer, I had a new rear tire installed. (Dunlop) Rear tire has less than 100 miles on it. This bike has been inspected by and worked on by a "Certified Honda Repair Tech." He has spend several nights working with me in the grage getting this bike just right. I will be glad to provide his name and number so you can verify any information, if you would like. I know there are many other items but that is about it. (My only issue wuth the bike, and I did not realize it until yesterday is the windshield. If I were to keep the bike, I would change the windshield. It is perfect if you happen to be 6'4" but other than that, it is too tall. It needs to be replaced and i think that can be done for less than $150.00.) Good Luck, I hope whoever wins this one will enjoy it. (I will run this for 7 days and I will put a reasonable reserve on it.) On Apr-19-11 at 08:54:57 PDT, seller added the following information: Folks, Under "Available Accessories" in the listing - That was a list that came out on the original Spec Sheet from Honda. It does not mean that I have all of those items I do have Front Wind Deflectors, Custom Seat, Trunk Rack and Fender Trims - What you see in the photo is what we are dealing on. I have a few other items that I will sell with the bike or after the bike is gone. Sorry for any confusion. If you want to know about any specific options, shoot me a note and I will tell you what I have. Thanks everyone:)On Apr-20-11 at 05:06:04 PDT, seller added the following information: Hi Folks - I want to let everyone know that this bike will sell. I will lift the reserve as soon as EBay will allow it. Someone will purchase this bike. I will change the oil and oil and oil filter on this bike this weekend, pressure up the tires and ive it another thourough cleaning. it will be ready to ride for the new owner. I have the VIN number at home, I am on the road at the moment. The title is in hand and is good to go. I am considering shooting a short YouTube video so you hear how good this bike sounds. It is one of the nicest sounding 6 packs i have ever heard on a Valkyrie. If you would like to see a movie clip of the bike, please let me know and I will try to make that happen. Whoever ends up with this bike is a lucky person. it is a head turner! On Apr-21-11 at 13:35:30 PDT, seller added the following information: Folks, I have three short YouTube video clips that I shot today so that you can see and hear the bike run.
