If you are looking for a new edition SL that will provide value and enjoyment, this may be the car for you. It is loaded, extra clean inside and out, mechanically superb with no problems of any kind and is garage kept by a non-smoker…me. It has been meticulously maintained. The paint shines as new and there are no annoying dings. The car runs and drives as one would expect from a SL. Importantly, there are no surprises! This Designo edition stands apart from other SL’s in that it incorporates added luxury not found in the other less luxurious SL500 or, in some cases, not even offered as an option. The obvious differentiation is a Designo metallic exterior which seems to change color in different lights. It's called silver but sometimes it has a golden tone or even a little green in the gold! Less obvious are the numerous luxury options that come standard in the Designo edition and are only available in it, include: Designo silver metallic paint Hand-fitted glove-soft graphite Nappa leather to seats, head restraints, dash, console, doors, armrests, roll bar, and rear cabin panel. Highly polished Designo maple wood and leather trimmed steering wheel, shift knob, door trim, and console. Alcantara suede pillars, visors, and headliner 18 inch wheels Active ventilated seats with heating/cooling features, pulsing, and multi-contoured seat-backs will blow cold or heated air and massage youIf you've owned a Mercedes or other high performance German car, you know that annoying brake dust requires cleaning the wheels every few days. The brakes and rotor were replaced with the highest level of ceramic racing quality brakes. Not only do the wheels not need frequent cleaning but the braking performance is improved. During the winter, in Florida it may not rain for weeks. The car always looks clean! The car is very well engineered even when considering a Mercedes. This is evident that even with the hardtop stowed; there is enough space in the trunk to carry two golf bags. Transforming between open-air roadster and secure coupe is possible at a stop light in 16 seconds. I have upgraded the car to 2007 labeling, 2007 wheels, and 2006 navigation data. Still have the old wheels in the corner.The MSRP was over $100,000 when new. I purchased it pre-owned at a local dealer and have owned it the past 5 years. It’s a great car…you will enjoy it.
