1975 Mercedes-Benz 450 SL For sale is my nice pre-owned/used 1975 SL 450; VIN: 10704412026513. I am the third owner of this car and this is a California car as I personally know the original owner and the second owner I purchased it from. This car has not been registered, driven, or on the road since '98. This car has been sitting outside in the elements ever since '98 and has only been pushed around when needed. The last time this car was started was in '06. These machines are built to be driven and should be on the road; not sitting aroound. I was planning to doing some updates and restoring this car but time has passed by and I never got around to it. The interior is/was sheep skin all around and an eye catcher when I purchased it. But, from sitting around for many years, it has weathered. This car features a nice AMG kit; custom Mercedes Benz wheels; a Nordi steering wheel; a Kenwood AM/FM pull out cassette stereo receiver; and a wooden gear shift. I have lost the release keys to release and lock the soft and hard tops in place. The top has beed sitting in the stow away compartment and since '98 and has probably weathered badly since it has not been opened or used since '98. Their is no rust on the under carriage. However, their is some minor rust inside of the trunk from my not covering it up after taking off the trunk recently to part it out. All of the body parts are present; all glass is in tact with no cracks; and nothing has been removed from the engine. Upon moving the car over the weekend to take pictures, the exaust system came off. This could be eaisly reinstalled as the they clamp on and are held up by 4 rubber rings. This will be included but not installed. This auction will also include all owners manuals and a repair manual. This is a nice project car or great for the parts. If you add up the simple parts that could be used or removed like the American bumpers, European head lights; fenders, hood, grill, doors, etc; they could cost you a small fortune. The body is in good shape; it has never been in a accident; but will need restoration from sitting out in the elements for all thoose years. As far as the engine; I don't remember what my mechanic recommended back in '98 and I have not been in contact with the mechanic that use to keep this car up for me. Theirfor; this car is being sold as not currently running; sold as-is; for restoration, parts, or repair. However, this car should start up with a new battery. This car is being sold as-is with no warranties or guarentees what so ever. But, if you decide you want it, shipping and transporting is strictly the buyers resposability. This is a low opening bid auction, with no reserve, with the highest bidder winning. (I have seen this same year and model sell for over $23,000.)
