This 1981 240D has a hard to find 4-speed manual transmission. This Merc is very original an un-restored. The paint is brand new and looks great no chips, scratches, or surface rust. The Merc also was just serviced and had injector hoses replaced, oil change, new battery, brake fluid flushed, and some rubber bushings where replaced. It runs and drives great, clutch feels good, transmission and engine work great, it has almost new Goodyear tires all the way around. Gets amazing MPGs and would make a great grease car. The car has a new NC safety inspection. The interior has been untouched and needs a little work. The driver seat has a few tears in it, the pass front has a tear also, but the rear seat looks perfect. The dash has cracks in it and a small wood trim piece is missing. Carpet looks good but could use a good cleaning. The floor boards look good with the exception of the passenger rear needs to be replaced. The doors look good. It looks to have never been in a major wreck. The out side looks great, look at the pictures for any cosmetic imperfections. The odometer and speedo just stopped working and we have heard this to be a common problem with these cars and a cheap fix. Under the hood looks good. The motor is in perfect shape no tics or knocks at all. The AC belt is missing so i don't know the condition of the AC system just assume its inop. With the exception of the passenger rear floor board it looks to have only minor rust that i can see, no surface rust on the paint. This is great car at a great price. If you are looking for a cheap great driving Mercedes diesel this is it. This car can be converted to run on veggie oil very easily.This car is also offered locally so it may be sold at any time.
