Front and rear bumpers are fresh as a daisy. Paint has a high level of luster. Really nice overall. The interior reflects the gentle treatment in the cars past--all surfaces appear like new. Seats, console, headline and dash look great. No scuffs or stains to mar the vehicle's luxurious feel. Drving and Mechanical Impressions It's great to get in a car when its freezing outside, and grip a heated steering wheel, warm yourself on heated seats, and watch the snow flakes dissolve on the glass moon roof. As we move toward the Spring, there will be plenty of family events to be enjoyed in luxury. During our 200 mile test loop--which included a mix of local and highway driving--we always felt pampered and in control. When compared to competing SUV's from Lexus, Rover, Mercedes and Volvo--the BMW feels like the clear winner. The X5 has a secure command of the road, and sporty agility that the other brands lack. It is as if the others are winners of the almost but not quite award. The 3.0 litre engine offers amazing power, yet solid fuel economy. Very responsive. At no time did we ever feel nervous or out of control--even driving in slick, icy conditions. Transmission shifts as smooth as butter. Breaking was solid and the steering was positive and direct. None of the floating highway manners, or back breaking firmness found in some SUVs. This BMW is purposefull--not pretentious. Grade "A". Market Report This car is priced to move for a quick sale.
