Vehicle Detail
1961 Coupe DeVille 2 door hardtop.V8 automatic. Paint is original color, Desert Fawn (gold). Power everything...windows and seats. California car all its life, mainly Palm Springs. Clean title. The motor is running very strong, starts right up, first crank every time. I drive this car twice a week up and down the street. It has new plug wires and a new radiator. The gas tank is freshly refurbished including the fuel lines and hardware. The body is in very good shape, considering it is a 1961 car. I do not know much about Cadillacs but I will tell you about it, the best I can. The bumpers are in very good shape, they are straight but do need re-chroming. I got a very reasonable estimate for a 6 piece bumper, triple plate chrome for $375. The rear bumper costs less (I do have the number for the shop in Los Angeles). The body is pretty straight and has original paint on every panel, but does need a little work. There is some surface rust- on the tops of the fins, some on the top of the roof, and the trunk (surface). I am very impressed with the condition of the trunk interior, which I heard is very important to Cadillac enthusiasts. There is no rust in the trunk. Also, the rockers have no rust. They are very solid. The doors open and shut very well. The door handle on the passenger side is not original. The trunk latch is missing and the left hinge is broken, it needs attention. The glass is very good, no cracks. I bought a new drivers door glass to get new chrome around the window, it is nice and needs to be put in. I have the chrome blinkers for the front fenders. The stainless on the passenger fin needs a clip or two. I do not have the stainless for the lower fins, they should be easy to get. The car has the original deep, steel wheels. The hub caps are very shiny. The tires are brand new. New wheel cylinders. New brakes/shoes-see pic. of the brake drum. The interior is in poor shape and needs to be re-done. The chrome on the instrument bezel is very nice. No cracks on the dash.On Mar-31-11 at 13:01:10 PDT, seller added the following information: Correction to body style: Sixty Two series sport coupe, rather than DeVille (It is a 1961). There engine runs very well, no leaks, no smoke, no knocks, and no taps. The transmission does not leak.I have the door panels, but they are in poor shape.I also have the stainless steel windshield wipers, they are in good condition. The heater core is still hooked up with the original hoses. It is a factory air conditioned car. The AC condenser is in excellent condition. It is missing the air conditioning pump, but I do have a lead on one for $134.There was some body work on the right rear quarter, that is not the best body work. The car has power windows. No rust on undercarriage.
