2001 VOLKSWAGON BEETLE 1.8 T TIMING BELT PROBLEM AFTERMARKET CHROME TYPE WHEELS 2 NEAR NEW TIRES ON THE BACK 5 SPEED COLD A/C, POWER WINDOWS, LOCKS & MIRRORS, CRUISE SOLD AS-IS AS A NON RUNNING CAR 141,825 miles CLEAR TITLE IN HAND $500 DEPOSIT TO BE PAID UPON THE END OF THE SALE VIA PAYPAL I bought this car while on a trip to Lexington, KY and it has been an absolutely wonderful vehicle. However just before Christmas, I went to start it and the timing belt seems to have come off or broken while not moving. A mechanic told me that usually when the timing belt has a problem, that it may have caused more problems within the engine (i.e. valves and/or Piston problems), but there is a small chance that it might only need a belt and compression testing. I had to buy another car immediately due to work and school commitments and decided to fix it at a later date, but its such a shame its just sitting here and not getting fixed and being used, since it was such a great overall car! The engine was sweet, great MPG, the Turbo responded superbly (when needed, i don't have a lead foot) the A/C was ice cold, Heater worked well and it was a smooth ride, the clutch and gears worked very well and shifted smoothly. It has a Blaupunkt CD player and heated seats, power windows, power locks, anti-theft system and power heated side mirrors. It does look like it may have had some paint on the hood at some time, has scratches and stone chips, the armrest needs fixing, the glove box handle is missing, the airbag light was on (airbag may need servicing), it sounded like a wheel bearing was starting to go on the passenger side rear, but im not sure and the brakes look rusty since its been parked for several months, the trunk spoiler needs clear coat or repainting, the front bumper has some cracks on it but the fog lamps and all the lights worked well, some clear coat has worn off the rear bumper aprox. a eight inch by 4 inch patch. The aftermarket wheels are a chrome type. Their may be other small problems that i dont know about, I have described as much as i know to the best of my knowlege. I am not a mechanic and cannot gaurantee this vehicle and i am selling it with no warranty and as a non running, as-is fixer upper with no returns or refunds whatsoever, my loss is your gain. I expect a $500 non-refundable deposit to be paid into my Paypal account within 24 hours of the end of the sale date. I have a low reserve on this car. It have over $4000 invested in this Car, but do not expect to get anything like this for it in this condition. I have a clear title in hand. You will need a trailer or similar to collect the vehicle.
