Vehicle Detail
For sale by private owner 1978 Ford F-150 I'm pretty sure that it has a V8, 400 ci motor Please look at pictures carefully and call if you have any questions 717-729-5621 I prefer you look at, hear, and test drive it personally prior to buying so as to have no problems and a happy buyer! I have owned this truck since 2006 and ran it very little. It has been used every year that I owned it to plow my churches parking lot (about 2 acres) with no problems. The plow is for sale to the buyer of the truck for an additional $400.00 if desired and is not included in this auction. I installed a factory new radiator in 2007. The starter is a hit and miss and should be replaced, but it will start the truck about every 5th or 6th turn of the key. The truck has a custom seat and it is in good condition. The heater core did steam this past winter and probably should be replaced. The 4 wheel drive works just fine and I have never had problems with it. The exhaust system need replaced - did not need it to plow snow when it rusted off. The tires are in good shape and should easily pass inspection. It is not currently inspected. There is some rust over the rear fenders and a bit of spotting here and there but far from being a rust busker or being all rusted out. The motor could use a tune up since it mostly has sat for the past 3 years. I had a drunk driver swipe the drivers side (see pictures) and should be easily fixed with little body work. It has a new rear leaf spring set on the drivers rear. (Other were badly breaking when I bought it) I think it has an Edelbrock high rise intake on it. It does for sure have an Edelbrock carburetor on it (minus air-cleaner). It has a PA Classic license plate that can be transferred to the buyer. This means that you will never pay a yearly registration ever again (saving about $54.00 per year) It has 97,906 miles on the truck. (I think it is all original) It has a wheel cylinder leak somewhere, I have to add some brake fluid each time I plow snow. - This come from just sitting around. Dash cover is not sun dryer nor is it cracked. It is in very good shape. I offered to sell this to my church for scrap price but decided to get continue using the tractor and scraper blade (too cold and too slow for me) The truck weighs 5,000 pounds and current scrap price is $13.00 per 100 pound or the truck is worth $650.00 plus cost of the plow if desired. (the reserve is just above the scrap price to cover Ebay fees) If this truck does not sell, I will part it out and scrap it myself. Sorry if I missed something, please email or call me 717-729-5621 After the auction ends, the buyer has 21 days to remove the vehicle or you will loose the deposit. If the deposit is not made in the allotted time, it will be offered to the 2nd place bidder or resold and the top bidder blocked from rebidding. Thanks for looking, Robert On Mar-28-11 at 14:13:23 PDT, seller added the following information: I was asked about the cab floor and there is some rust on the floor pans. No chance of falling through them. The driver's side is more of a crack / break near the weld line and the passengers side is worse and will need a piece of sheet metal 3 inches by 6 inches to cover. I have added more pictures. I did notice that there IS an Edelbrock intake on the motor as I had initially thought. I can be emailed directly at robt@netscape.com Thanks, Robert On Mar-31-11 at 04:51:12 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention, I don't know if it is in the headlight switch or in the dimmer switch on the floor but occasionally while driving with the lights on the lights will flicker. I was told by one person that it was the dimmer on the floor due to a rusty connection, but I not sure. I didn't drive it much at night and when I did, I just drove it like that. Sorry I did not remember that earlier but like I said I have used it only a few hours each winter then it snows and it sits rest of the year except to start it to keep things from rusting fast and dry rotting.
