This no reserve sale is for a 1999 Audi A6 4-door sedan, which was only 88,574 miles on it. This vehicle is powered by a V6 engine and automatic transmission. This vehicle is being sold as a “Mechanic’s Special” for the following reason: About one year ago this vehicle developed a problem where it would not accelerate properly and would lose power. I brought it to a mechanic who thought it was a vacuum problem. He replaced all the vacuum hoses, as well as preformed a complete rear brake job so as to pass Virginia state inspection (pads and rotors), and when I got the car back it continued to have the same problems. After further tests it was found that one cylinder had low compression and so I decided to replace the engine with a used one with similar miles. When this was put in (by a second mechanic) he replaced the timing belt but not the water pump (don’t know why to this day!). I drove the car for one day and then the water pump blew. Unfortunately, somehow this caused one of the valves to be bent and now my second engine has low compression in one cylinder. I’ve decided I can’t afford a third engine so that’s why I’m putting it up for sale. Exteriorly, this car is in very good condition with a high gloss shine to the original forest green paint. There are no dents and only a minor ding on the driver side rear door and some minor scratches on the passenger door panel. Additionally, the roof has a minor indentation near the rear window and the rear bumper has an 8 inch crease in the plastic cover near the left corner. All glass is in excellent condition. Interiorly, this vehicle is also in very good condition. There are no holes, stains, or cuts in any of the upholstery and the beige leather seats look great. Power options included with this vehicle are: power windows and locks, power mirrors, cruise control, AM/FM cd player, air conditioning and keyless entry. All power option work as expected and the air conditioning blows ice cold but continually blows a fuse. This vehicle has a brand new Virginia state inspection, which is valid until 3/11 and a brand new battery. Additionally, the tires, which are mounted on alloy wheels have about 50-60% tread remaining. Included in the sale is one keyless entry with key and floor mats. It should be noted that this car will start and drive a short distance (~5 miles) but will need to be towed any longer distances than that.
