Vehicle Detail

This 73 Opel GT was found in a barn last January, and I have been fixing it up every since. It sat 20 years, as the picture shows. It runs and drives well, and is registered in VA with Antique plates and a clear title. At 83K miles, it looks pretty good for the age and miles, and I have done a lot to it already, Nearly $2700 in parts alone! While I have done a lot to the car, and it drives well, it is not perfect, it will probably not be a candidate for a full restoration unless you have decent bodywork skills. That said, it looks decent, and with some basic skills could be made to look really nice. It is completely drivable now, though I suspect it needs the brake booster installed (included) for the brakes to be 100%, even though it stops fine. It has no rust in the floorboards, a big deal on this kind of car, but does have rust in the fenders, pretty normal for these cars, and fixable, and some isolated rust spots here and there. The belly pan is solid, as is the rest of the underside. Mechanically it is pretty good, with compression from 110 to 125 psi. It leaks a bit of trans fluid, and the rear has a slight seep, normal for this car. It has a new Weber Carburetor, fuel lines, filters and air filter, plus new gaskets. It also has the much sought after Sprint Manifold, and new exhaust. I have replaced the points ignition with a new solid state Hot Spark ignition, and a new Pertronics coil. The cap, rotor, plug wires and plugs are all new. I also replaced all the hoses and the alternator belt. The gas tank vent, a problem area, has been completely rebuilt. The car drives well, shifts well, and handles well. On the interior I cleaned it up, added a few missing parts, and reupholstered the seats (amateur job, but looks decent). I added a cheap radio and speakers. It works, but should be replaced if you like music. The car has all working keys, including the rare factory locking gas cap. I also have three hard bound manuals, as well as an extensive set of information on CDs that will come with the car.(Value over $100) The following is a comprehensive list of the work and parts I have done/purchased for the car, as well as extra parts available. On Mar-22-11 at 08:05:47 PDT, seller added the following information: A couple items I forgot to mention. The Speedometer tends to drag, showing a slower speed, when it is cold, though the odometer works perfectly. Also, one of the relays, I believe, is intemitttant so that the running lights on the right side sometimes wont come on.
