Vehicle Detail

1972 Triumph TR-6 Oregon car from new Comprehensive restoration Optional Overdrive and Hardtop Up for bids is this very sharp 1972 Triumph.  If you've been looking for a TR6 on eBay you're probably used to seeing a lot of mediocre examples, cars that are halfway done, done poorly, or need everything.  This example here is worthy of your consideration.  Being an Oregon car from new it is extremely solid, with all original sheet metal and floors.  Cosmetically it presents very well, with excellent paint and good fit and finish.  Mechanically the car is ready for the road, benefitting from comprehensive service work by a well respected marque specialist.  This is a good solid car that has been brought up to the next level, it is up to date mechanically and ready to use and enjoy.  Click to enlarge any of the photos below, a link to a slideshow of all the enlarged images is available to view at the bottom of the page. Finished in British Racing Green, the car wears the color well.  Originally blue, you'd be hard pressed to find any trace of the original color.  The car was completely stripped down for the repaint, hard to acess areas such as the underdash, trunk recesses, and engine bay nooks and crannys were all painted - the car was completely apart.  Color changes are ok if they were done right, this one was done right.  The paint finish is beautiful - mirror smooth with excellent gloss and depth.  I'm the picky type when it comes to paint, I think you'll be impressed with the paint quality on this car. The bumpers on the car are straight and true with no dings, hazing or pitting.  Tires are the correct signature Michelin Red Lines in good shape with good tread.  The wheels have been refinished and are excellent. Signal lenses are all clear and clean with no cracks.  The windshield has been replaced and is crystal clear with no flaws. The hardtop was restored with a new headliner and all new weatherstripping.  6 mounting points ensure a snug, weatherproof fit.  All of the correct hardware for mounting is included. The soft top is in good shape, it also has all new weatherstripping, plus a restored frame.  The trunk carries the factory jacking equipment and a matching spare.  The well is rust free and solid.  The fender seams forward of the trunk opening show no blistering or bubbling, a common rust spot on these cars. The interior is excellent with all new seat covers, carpet, door panels, FurFlex seals and new weatherstripping throughout.  The dash pad is free of cracks or splits.  All gauges work and show good readings, although the fuel gauge accuracy is off.  Heater and fan work correctly.  Lights, signals, wipers and horn work correctly.  The speedometer has stopped working recently but a new cable is included. This TR6 starts easily warm or cold and really runs super.  Some cars look good and some cars drive good, this one does both.  The car drives beautifully, suspension and steering are tight and responsive.  The car tracks straight and corners flat, point the car and that's where it goes.  It runs down the road with no squeaks, clunks or rattles.  The car brakes well, stays cool, doesn't smoke.  Gearshifts are smooth and sure, with the overdrive the car does very well on the freeway, cruising 60mph at 2500rpm.   The car comes with a new, unused tonneau cover, factory jack, partial tool kit, and a car cover.  Also include is a replacement speedometer cable, a spin-on oil filter adapter, and service receipts. The service receipts reflect the following work: Clutch rebuild, re-surfaced flywheel, new slave cylinder Rebuilt driveline with new U-joints New axle shaft U-joints and seals Rebuilt carburetors New brake master and booster New alternator New rod and main bearings, oil pump   The undercarriage shows untouched floor pans with original red oxide primer.  Frame, inner rockers, wheel arches - all rust free.  The car shows no history of accident damage or repair.
