Vehicle Detail
Hello, here is the average mans' El Camino. The El Camino has a rebuilt v8 engine (not original to the car). It starts right up with the first turn of the key. The engine idles superbly (very smooth). It comes with electronic ignition. The 350 automatic transmission shifts properly. The shifter is floor mounted. It has all new exhaust and new mufflers. The drum brakes work properly. All body mounts have been replaced with new ones. The bushings from the upper and lower control arms have also been replaced with new ones. The floor boards have been repaired ( not professionally ) and are strong and solid. The bed of the truck is also strong and solid. The doors open and close properly. Windows roll up and down and the vent windows open and close. All the glass is good ( no cracks ). It has a new windshield with a new rubber gasket. It also has a new rubber gasket on the back glass. All exterior and interior moldings are complete. The headlights and brake lights work. Now for the things that you might want to work on: The speedometer is not connected. The seats are not original to the car and are not mounted (I do not know what kind of car the seats came from, they were actually given to me by a friend who had the seats in his garage). The blinkers need to be connected ( if you think you need them ). It needs a headliner ( if you think its going to make you drive better ). The tires and wheels that are pictured on the car are not included in the sale of the car ( they actually belong to another chevrolet that I have ) but you will be provided with tires and wheels good enough to move the car. I'm sure there might be some more 'pros and cons' that I haven't mentioned but I just can't remember them at this time. It doesn't have a fancy expensive 'mirror like' paint job (obviously) and it doesn't have a fancy hi-performance engine. This is not a shell where you will need to install windows, put in an engine, do complete electrical work etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. and etc! In my opinion this El Camino is about 90 percent done and just needs little 'knick-knacks'. This is a car that you will not be afraid to take to the grocery store or to work on a daily basis. You will not have to worry about someone messing up your expensive paint job. This is a solid El Camino and should be driven and enjoyed! Shipping/Transport will be the responsibility of the buyer. I will assist within reasonable means. I accept pay-pal and or postal money-orders. If you have any questions don't hesitate to email me.On Mar-19-11 at 08:39:32 PDT, seller added the following information: Hello again, I have been receiving many emails of people thinking they can fly-in and drive the El Camino home. Please do-not be mislead with this car. It still needs work to get the car 'road-worthy'. Something that I can think of right off the top of my head is that it needs a wheel alignment. I'm sure the gas tank could use a good cleaning. Like I said the El Camino is complete and all the major 'time-consuming' stuff has been done to it but it still needs the 'knick-knacks'.
