Vehicle Detail
I enjoy older unique cars and now have one too many. This "Fox-body" mustang sold new in San Bruno Ca. and then went north to Oregon where I spoted it via an estate sale. Doc. left in the car told me it received a new radiator/heater core (from its dealership) after two years of ownership. Well kept and well maintained till the owners demise and my purchase. A west-coast car almost all its life until it moved to Denver. It is an LX model with the front/rear swaybars, a single repaint, factory front and rear spoiler, cold AC, disc-brakes, POWER mirrors-steering-brakes-locks-hatch/gascap releases-windows. Has a very good factory stereo, multispeed wipers, tilt-wheel, RWDefogger, and EVERYTHING WORKS WELL as I found out on my drive from Oregon to Denver. Very good MPG on the trip, 27 to the gallon in Cruise Control at 75. The light blue interior shows almost no wear, with just a little sun fading on the rugs. even the headliner is perfect. No rips/tears/stains or rub-thrus anywhere (check pics). I have not been able to find any rust on the body or floors or fenders or rockers, just a little surface rust on the Diff (see pics). And the little white panel-tags that ford used to identify an original factory panel? They are all in place and many can be seen in the engine pic with the hood-stick. Not suprisingly this 43k Mile car is tight and precise and a pleasure to drive, much like an Austrian-girlfriend. All the little stuff that was broken or non-operable on the older Fox-Mustangs I owned back-in- the-day, like lights in the glovebox, lights on each sunvisor mirror, the little plastic console cover (unbroken!), the maplight overhead, the remote openers for the hatch and gas cap and so on...all work well. The car is shown with both white (winter) rims and black (summer) rims, both sets go with the car. the summer rims are 15 X 7in. and the tires have 4 months on them. The winter rims are 16 X 8in and have 3 month old Blizzaks (Sears) on them. I just changed over to the summer set. NEW in last 12 months: mufflers/brakes/Diff-Tranny flush and fill/serpentine belt/both hatch-struts/all 6 lites in front/multiple filter-oil changes/etc NEW in last 6 months: windshield/summer tires/winter tires-rims/plugs/Sears diehard gold battery/ wipers/etc Car has an honest 43,568 miles miles on it but something the first-owner did (proof supplied) causes Carfax to indicate "odometer error". The car was sold new in Ca. with the silly Federalized 85-MPH speedo (car was faster than that). So the original owner had the dealer install the 160-MPH speedo (the car was slower than that) at the 7705 mile point. He saved the 85-MPH speedo in the FOMOCO box that the 160-MPH speedo came in (see pics) and that comes with the car along with receipts/documents. So the 160-speedo in the car registers only 35,863 miles. To this you must ADD the 7705 and then you get the actual miles of 43,568. Sorry about the math lesson but it needs to be explained carefully. So note the pics and the carfax. My feedback rating of 100% is important to me so I try to "underpromise and overdeliver", works every time. Car is currently on the summer tire-set. So you can change the "look" of the car via the rims and also be prepared for any weather. It really is a rare time-capsule of a car that you can drive-enjoy and be somewhat unique at the same time. I would not hesitate to drive it to either coast. I will meet the buyer at the airport for the drive-it-home option or work with your shipper to send it to its new home. On Mar-16-11 at 22:08:15 PDT, seller added the following information: To the questioner who asked "since Carfax did not catch the early milage discrepancy, why did you bother to bring it up?". My answer would be "I have a 100% feedback trail that I earned over 200+ transactions" so you do the math. and please do not bid on my car. On Mar-17-11 at 09:27:24 PDT, seller added the following information: Forgot to mention: have shop manual, owners manual and warrantlyguide, and the black-caps for the summer-wheels (safe in bags, no scratches), and the Factory sound system that works so well, Casette player only (hey, back-in-the-day that was top-drawer!) and I noticed a small, about 3 inch, ragged place in the door sealing gasket down at the bottom of the driver's door opening. Sure that someone out there makes a replacement door gasket....and if you are somewhat handy then you could just get a piece from a wrecking yard and snap just the small piece into place. So no suprises. On Mar-17-11 at 21:28:56 PDT, seller added the following information: Pin-stripes question: i looked and they are the twin-vinyl stripes, not paint. If they bother you then any competent Detail Shop can remove them, but sorry, cannot answer the question about price to remove.....Oil-pressure question: car maintains excellent oil pressure using the factory-recommended oil (my friends at Jiffy-Lube use the computer to find the recommended viscosity). Please note the first speedp pic: the car runs all day long at 2000 RPM (slightly over 70) and the O/P is steady as seen in the pic....And the car will have a few more miles on it (maybe 90 or so) when sold, I took it up to the mountains for brunch yesterday and may again Saturday (retirement has its perks) so...no suprises. On Mar-19-11 at 13:48:50 PDT, seller added the following information: Maybe I thought of a way to get some of the "fence sitters" (Watchers) off dead center? I will be dropping the Buy-it-Now price $100. at even-intervals moving up to the end of the 4 days left on the auction. (did it this AM in fact). Now an interested buyer-who-actually-has-$ can wait a little too long......and see someone buy it out from under OR..........move on it and win. The reserve is quite low, and very reasonable, for a car of this caliber. (and I do not like looking at this screen again-and-again any more than you do) On Mar-20-11 at 06:48:28 PDT, seller added the following information: GENTLEMEN: Sorry that I cannot lower the BIN price periodically as promised above but I had forgotten a strange thing about Ebay software/procedure. Once the Reserve is met (guess I set it too low) then the software removes the BIN field because the car will now sell. So after trying to "EDIT" the BIN price back into existence twice I got smart and took the "help" option and found out what was going on. My bad, and now I guess I am doomed to wait out the next several days till the auction ends. Anyway now you know why the BIN process is missing.
