Low Mileage Reliable Pontiac Sunfire Convertible for Sale by Owner I am selling my family’s 1997 Pontiac Sunfire Convertible SE. The car has an automatic transmission and only has less than 87,000 miles on the odometer. The car was purchased as a first car for a new driver 3 years ago and it has more than lived up to expectations. The car has a reserve price much much lower than Kelly Blue Book value as it does have some flaws. I believe in transparency and honesty, which is why those flaws will be addressed in this ad. Overall, the car runs great. It has given us no significant problems. It runs well, drives and corners well, has good gas mileage, and gets its driver from point A to point B. The convertible top works perfectly as do the automatic doors and windows. The radio works fine, but the CD player can act-up on occasion. As you can tell from the price, the car is not without its flaws however. The car has its check engine light on from a catalytic converter which needs replacing. In addition, there is a tick in the engine, from what we have been told, is a loose bolt when the coolant system was replaced. Lastly, the driver side window motor needs to be replaced and there are a few dings and scratches on the body of the car. As can be predicted, the car is sold as-is. The car has not been in any accidents while in our possession nor has there been any significant work done on the engine (other than the coolant system being replaced, as referenced earlier). We have listed the car at such a low reserve price because, like I’ve mentioned, there are some flaws with the car and it is not in perfect condition. If you are looking for a car that works, drives wells and gets you to where you need to go, all for an affordable price in this economy, then this car is for you. In addition, if you are looking for a starter-car for a new driver or a back-up/winter car for those times where an extra car may come in handy, the Sunfire will surely accommodate those needs. In closing, this is not a fresh-off-the-lot perfect car, but it runs well, drives well, and it does its job. I am selling it for such a low reserve price despite the low mileage because we do not have the time to fix the little things needed to get it back to perfect condition. Moreover, I am not looking to go through the hassle of a lengthy selling period, and since we have a new car already, it is just occupying space in our driveway at the moment.
