Up for auction is my PHS documented 1965 Pontiac GTO Convertible with 4 barrel and 4 speed wide ratio transmission. Every option on the PHS is how the car sits today. I purchased this car from the original owners about 4 years ago and was completely original except for the paint which was done back in the early eighties. I was told that the mileage of 68K on the odometer was original and had never turned over. The car sat in there garage sense the mid eighties and was rarely driven sense gas was "to expensive" as they said. Go figure. When I got it I pulled the car completely apart, pulled the body off the frame and went through the suspension. I replaced all the bushings and detailed and painted everything. The outside paint still looked pretty good so I opted to kept the paint and the original color on it. The interior was gone through keeping the original front seats and front and rear door panels but recovered the rear seat because of a hole in it and the carpet because of fading. The convertible top was also original and still looked pretty good but was stiff due to the age and the back window was yellowed so it has been completely replaced. The engine was completely disassembled and resealed because of all the dry and original gaskets but I opted not to rebuild it so to keep it as original as possible. The only rust in the car was in the trunk floor so it has been completely replaced. The bumpers had some surface rust and fading so they have been rechromed.
