Vehicle Detail

This Toyota 4Runner started life as a 3.0L V-6 with 5-Spd manual transmission. About 9 years ago the engine blew up and as opposed to putting in another 3.0L I decided to put in a Chevy 4.3L high output V-6 with 4L60E transmission. It has an Advance Adapters transmission adapter (#50-3701) connecting the 4L60E tranny to the Toyota 23 spline transfer case. It has a Downey Off Road 4 to 6 bolt adapter in between with a screw-in type Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS). I had the rear drive shaft modified to fit and the front drive shaft has been lathed and ready to be custom made by your local driveshaft shop using the stock Toyota slip yokes. The motor is mounted on Downey Off Road V-6 motor mounts and I also have a spare pair of heavy duty motor mounts from Energy Suspension (#3.1115G) ready to install if you need them. The motor is cooled by a Summit Racing aluminum radiator (#BCI-65001) and a Flex-Lite 17” serpentine flex fan (#1517). I have installed stainless steel flex hosing to the radiator. The air intake uses a K&N Filter, SBX hoses, Downey chrome plated and polished steel tubing, a brand new Air Temp Sensor and a brand new Mass Air Flow Sensor (#25179711). I also put in a brand new Oil Pressure Sensor (#12553175) and instead of going through the nightmare of mating Toyota wiring to GM wiring I have a Painless Wiring kit (#60214) ready to go in. It’s super easy to put in but not installed at the moment pending front shock and shock mounts that need to be welded in. There is not much of the Toyota wiring left in the truck. I was going to wire the lights and other accessories using a new fuse box and some toggle switches in the cab. On that same note there is no AC, turn signals on the steering column or the dash board at all. I was going to have a custom dash built for all the switches I would need for all the lights, turn signals, radio, GPS, etc. If you haven’t figured out by now this truck was only meant to be driven off-road. I have a ECU for the motor that needs to be reprogrammed but if you can find the computer that Painless Wiring recommends then it is just plug and play with no reprogramming at all. I have the computer # in my notes somewhere. The front suspension consists of Downey Off Road A-Arms which are 2” longer than stock. It has Porsche CV Joints, custom made axles by Sway-A-Way, Downey modified ball joints, Downey 26mm Torsion Bars and Downey Idler Arm Gusset. I have a Downey skid plate, powder coated red, and a Downey front grille guard that is unpainted. They are bolt in. In the rear I hung Trail Gear 3” leaf springs for tons of travel. I cut out the stock mounts and welded in Trail Gears shackle mounts and front springs hangers. Custom made Downey Off Road shackles support the rear with Trail Gear greaseable bolts. Trail Gear U-Bolt flip kit holds the springs to the axle. Downey’s rear disc brake kit has been bolted in the rear axle. I have vented rotors front and rear from JBR. And custom made stainless steel brake lines from Crown were installed to the calipers in the front and rear. They are DOT with a red plastic lining. It has Energy Suspension body mounts. A B&M sport shifter (#80776), not installed. Deist rear lap belts, an original Kayline bikini top (very rare), a custom made aluminum oil pan and modified tranny tunnel to fit the transmission, Mickey Thompson Classic Lock aluminum wheels, Hanneman Fiberglass Ivan-Style front hood and fenders, Doetsch Tech steering stabilizer, one spare rear chromoly axle from Trail Gear (need two) and Warn front locking hubs (#28761). I have vehicle manuals for the 4Runner and the motor and tranny (not the cheap Chilton manuals but the actual dealer manuals). I have a whole bunch of extra components, notes, nuts and bolts that will be thrown into the sale. I'm also going to include and an set of wheels. I believe they are 15X8 aluminum from American Racing. Pretty much you get everything I have on this project. Some of the major components needed are front seats ( I couldn't decide if I wanted Beard or MasterCraft), shocks and shock mounts, wiring, exhaust (I have both O2 sensors, brand new), dashboard, and fuel lines. Most of the hardest work has been done I believe. Vehicle is not registered and was last registered in California in 2001. It was always my intention of registering it for off road use only. This is a serious project for serious off roaders only. The only reason I have not finished this project is because of time constraints. I am not desperate for money, I just do not have the time to work on this any longer. I set my minimum selling price at $3000.00 which I believe isn't too bad considering the retail value on all the parts I purchased comes out to more than $12000.00. That doesn't even include the purchase price of the truck itself. If you have any questions I highly encourage you to email me. If you leave me your name phone number I will call you back as soon as I can. It’s no problem. Thank you
