Vehicle Detail

Clean 65 Thunderbird. 390, automatic. Swing-away steering wheel. Cranks, runs, drives, and stops very well. Floats down the highway at 65 mph. We've been driving it some locally since last year. Besides this car, I've got a Chevelle, a 442, an Austin, and a Goldwing, all kept inside. Something has to go. Fairly rare model that has the landau top, but never had a/c from the factory apparently. Clear NC title in my name. New front tires, front floor pans, carpet. New valve guide seals. Nice professional re-paint some years ago. Doors are tight & straight. Has the usual old-car issues; some drips underneath, looks like transmission and/or power steering fluid, nothing I thought was bad enough to repair, couple of the window switches don't work, turn signals are intermittent, etc. Power seat wiring appears to have been unhooked when carpet was put in and never re-attached. Slight steering vibration at around 40-45. Gas guage nf. All the other guages work. Heater works fine. Wipers work fine. Tranny shifts slow when very cold, fine after it cycles a couple of times. Some loose seams on the drivers seat. Drivers armrest patched. Minor pitting on some of the chrome. No rust at all appearing on the body that I could find. Battery tray is rusty though. Dimmer switch bad; high (I think) beams only. I had the radiator cap off & forgot to replace it before taking the pictures. Has a new trunk mat, but I couldn't figure out how it all fit in. Really fun old car to drive, and gets a lot of looks on the highway. All Bidders please read; This car is sold as-is, where-is, with no warranty whatsoever. The only exception is that if a major mis-description is discovered when the buyer arrives to pick up the vehicle, I will refund the buyer's deposit, no questions asked. This does not include minor cosmetic issues common to most old vehicles. I am not a professional mechanic or a dealer, so I can only tell you what I know. If you have questions, please come and look at the car, or send a professional to do so. I will assist with this any way I can. Or you may ask using the "ask a question" format above. I prefer to answer questions in a written format for the protection of both the buyer and the seller. If you feel the need to talk on the phone, e-mail me and I'll send my number. $500.00 verified PayPal deposit due within 24 hours of the end of the sale. Balance due within 7 days, and may be cash on arrival, bank-to-bank transfer, or check. Any form of check will hold the car and title pending clearing. I can store the vehicle at no charge for up to 30 days after full payment is made, at the buyers risk for loss or damage. I have a good location to load, and will gladly assist a car transporter in any way I reasonably can. I am invariably asked whether or not a vehicle can be driven home. The answer is; I would not be afraid to drive this vehicle any distance, but as with any old vehicle, the best way to guarantee a trouble-free trip home is to trailer it. I've driven vehicles hundreds of miles that looked like they wouln't go a block, and I've had multiple breakdowns trying to drive #1 cars. It's the nature of the old car hobby. Please note; if you have zero or low feedback, please contact me before bidding or making an offer.
