Shell is solid with only surface rust in a couple spots. When it arrived, I applied rust proofing to some bare-metal spots as seen in the photos. At some point, perhaps in the '70s, it was upgraded from 850 with magic wand to 998 and remote. The NZ title showed that it was imported new from the UK in '63, hence the RHD. As I understand it, in NZ, the DMV is issuing new vins to all cars with non-conforming vins... this car has a modern NZ vin. The original vin plate is still intact but it has been registered using the new NZ vin in both Oregon and now Michigan. I would have liked to go back to the original vin but it sounded like too much paperwork. Title is clear and in-hand. It is registered in MI as historic. Since moving to Michigan in 2008 the car has basically sat... always garaged. I had it out a couple times in the summer. I have receipts for work performed, most of it done in 2006-7. - Replaced cooling (water pump, all hoses/belt, super 2-core radiator) - New wheel bearings (all 4), brake hardware (drums, shoes, hoses and bits), wheel cylinders, and shocks (all 4) - Replaced points with electronic ignition - Replaced generator with modern alternator - New SU fuel pump and sending unit. - Added safety gauge (Smiths dual water/pressure) - New motor mounts and stabilizer - New door seals Runs and drives well. It's been tuned (valves adjusted and carb adjusted) but not gone through. Oil pressure and water temp are within normal ranges. No smoke but it has typical British car oil drip. I’ve maybe put 20 miles on it in Michigan… sunny summer miles. There is a whirrr noise… like an axle rubbing on the subframe as it rotates. It is not related to shifting, the gear selected or clutch position. It is affected by road surface undulations and lateral force like a bend in the road. And, it is intermittent. I’m not skilled enough to know what it could be but there is noting I can discern through visual inspection. No bright spots on the drive line or obvious excessive play. It shifts fine and the clutch is in good shape. Fluids were changed last summer (oil, water, brake). Odometer has never worked, and the interior is rough... no carpet and rear seat splits. Exterior enamel paint is tired, not original or done very well with some overspray. Interior paint looks to be original. Glass is all good but some hardware needs adjustment. I have a bunch of random new and old parts that will go with. I'm happy to answer any questions. Thanks for looking On Mar-06-11 at 15:24:26 PST, seller added the following information: I just lowered the reserve. On Mar-08-11 at 16:06:44 PST, seller added the following information: Here is a video of me cold starting the mini. It's been stored since November and you'll see it starts right up... Sorry so dark. Not a lot of overhead light in my garage.
