I have been thru this unit from the front axle to the rear taillight. There is no body rust or collision damage whatsoever. The original paint is in remarkable shape with the original decals. Black engine color is 90% with a few nicks, mostly on carbs but overall in great shape. Both wheels are perfectly straight. Absolutely no evidence of abuse, racing or being dropped ever. Bike runs great, charges perfectly, shifts smoothly and rides remarkable. Can’t find any leaks anywhere. Fuel tank has one paint spot on the very bottom near the bottom seam but is not visible from regular vantage points. Petcock is fine. Side covers are in fine shape but have been engineered for fitment as the tabs are gone. Covers fit fine as engineered. These are the only irregularities to tell you about and they are VERY minor for a 28 year old motorcycle. Everything else is bone stock and operates as designed. Below is what's been done on my clock for the preservation of this wonderful machine: Unit has a Supertrapp header that accommodates center stand stop. New fork seals and oil 9-2010 Complete re-assessment of wiring under headlight and gauge cluster. Red LED accent lighting to rear and front, 3 strips . . . VERY tasteful! New OEM headlight assembly. Have old one as well. New Voltage regulator and wiring block 10-2010 Complete re-assessment of wiring around battery box. New battery 4-2010. Has been tendered every since. Custom Corbin seat with back rest. New OEM clutch cable 8-2010 New O-ring chain 7-2010 New OEM rear brake pads and rebuilt rear caliper 7-2010 New OEM taillight assembly. New National Cycle Plexstar 2 windshield 9-2010 I have a spare set of silver OEM carbs built, jetted and ready to go, aluminum clutch cover, and an aluminum cam cover. These items are for changing out to give opposing contrast to all of the black on the 83 model but are not currently installed. The Honda Nitehawk had this pattern. Also have a spare 1982 model speedo/tach gauge set with the 85 MPH speedometer reset to zero mileage, just for fun or if you need bigger speedo font! Has yet to be used. Main cluster mileage is correct. All of these items in this paragraph are for sale separately or can be added in to the final price for an additional 400.00. On a scale of 1-10 for originality and condition, this machine is a strong 8.5.
