Vehicle Detail

For sale is my 2003 4-Door Golf GL TDI 5 Speed. The car is Indigo Blue with a black interior. History - I bought it used in 2006 with 56,000 miles as a VW Certified Pre-Owned vehicle. Original owner was from NJ and I think was a TDI geek similar to myself. Condition - Car is in excellent mechanical condition. No fluid leaks, does not burn oil. Starts right up even on the coldest of days, plenty of power, no smoke. Transmission shifts smoothly (short shift kit) with no grinding. Exterior is good, paint still shines. A few small dings and scratches here and there but nothing excessive (it was snowing the day I took the pictures, so some of the white speks/streaks are snowflakes). One issue is the front passenger quarter has slight damage - leading edge is pushed in a bit thanks to some unknown person at work (see photos). The paint did not break so there is no rust. No rust anywhere in the car that I can see. Interior is in great condition, no issues with headliner, everything works except radio has no reception due to bad antenna cable. Plenty of tread on the tires. Recent VAGCOM scan showed no issues other than the radio antenna being disconnected. Maintenance - Adult owned and TDI geek maintained. Oil changes at 10,000 miles with correct synthetic diesel oil (typically Mobil 1 TDT 5W-40). Fuel and oil filters also changed every 10K miles. Timing belt, water pump, coolant and idler all done by dealer under warranty at 78,000 miles due to noisy water pump. Additional maintenance/repairs has as included a new alternator pulley, serpentine belt, coolant temp sender, passenger air bag, glow plugs, turbo (VNT) actuator. I also removed and cleaned the carbon from the intake manifold and turbo a few years ago and polished out the haze in the headlights (they look new). Upgrades - PP520 Nozzles and Custom intercooler piping Heated Seats from a 2003 GTI (yes they work and are properly wired in), airbags work as well. 16" VW Alloy Rims ScanGaugeII (monitors engine parameters and fuel economy, also can clear engine codes) Engine Cooolant heater (frost heater) - plug it in for those really cold nights Audi TT Short Shifer ECS Front Fog Lights with Euro Switch Kamei Grill (I still have the OEM one if you want it) GROM iPod adaptor Fuel Economy - I drive a 70 mile round trim to work each day (mixed highway and city streets) and average 45 mpg. If you drive 50-55mph all day long, you could easily get 60+ mpg in this car. Much better economy than later versions of the same car. Issues - Slight damage to front quarter panel (see above). It probably will need brakes soon as I have never done them. They work fine although there is a slight pulsation under heavy braking on the highway. Clutch is fine for normal driving, but I recently noticed a slight bit of slippage under only the maximum boost/engine load level (e.g. high boost, low RPM, high gear - not a good combination anyway). For those in the know, I used VAGCOM to dial back the fuel a bit and now there are no issues with the clutch. Radio has no reception due to bad coaxial connector on antenna cable (easy fix). One of the radio knobs is missing. Slight snag in the drivers seat (NOT A BURN). I would really like to sell this car to someone familiar with TDI's as they appreciate what it is. Cash or certified bank check drawn on a local bank (no Nigerian banks or other scams please). $500 deposit due within 48 hours of sale. Car is also for sale locally and auction may end at anytime. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding. On Mar-05-11 at 04:24:16 PST, seller added the following information: I have had a lot of questions, so I thought I would officially answer them: The car is a GL but does have power windows, keyless entry (1 key fob), power heated mirrors and cruse control. Everything works fine. Selling the car because I bought a new Golf TDIThe loan was paid off a while ago, I have the title in hand. I have not really driven it in the snow as I have had previous winter cars (A4, pickup etc). Suspension is original OEM. It's in good shape, but like the rest of the car, it has 121,XXX miles on it. Front sway bar bushings and end links recently replaced. Includes a set of Monster mats VAGCOM cable does not come with the carOnly additive I use is Powerservice (White in winter, gray in summer)I am not interested in trades (sorry). Unless you have an Audi RS4 or Group B Short wheelbase Sport URQ... :)Brake light switch recall done at the dealer On Mar-06-11 at 04:40:43 PST, seller added the following information: Since the reserve has been met, and in fairness to all who have bid (and are watching), the car will sell via the auction only and is no longer for sale locally. Thanks
