Today we are offering for your bidding pleasure a 1947 Cadillac Series 62 4 door sedan. It is fresh out of a 33 year hibernation in the previous owners garage. The car was so big that they had to remove the rear bumper and brackets so that it would fit (These parts are of course included with the car). The car is 99% complete (Only missing 1 of it's famous "Sombrero" wheel covers). The body is quite solid with the only serious rust issues being the right rear taillight area and the top of the right front fender. There is also some rust in the trunk floor, especially in the spare tire well. All the trim pieces and bumpers are decent. Glass is all there but showing some delamination. The interior is complete but it does show it's age. The radio lights up but doesnt seem to play. Mechanically, the car will need work to be roadworthy again. The brakes are shot and the pedal glides effortlessly to the floor when pressure is applied. We removed the spark plugs and properly lubed the cylinders before trying to start it. The engine turns over freely but we couldn't get it to fire (probably needs points replaced). The battery is brand new as are the 4 firestone wide white 721 Radials (the spare wheel still sports a possibly original w/w bias ply). As we did not fire the engine we have no way of knowing the condition of the transmission so assume it will need work. Unsure of the miles. The rear end is free. This stately car is far too nice to part out but will require much work to hit the road again. You could restore/ upgrade the mechanicals and drive as is (Patina wise) or do a full blown restoration and rod it.
