1968 Mustang Fastback GT 390 (J-code) * This car is running a strong, rebuilt .040 over 390 with excellent C1AE casting heads, flat top pistons, and a reinforced block. Pertronics ignitor (electronic ignition conversion) and flame thrower coil. Extremely strong running. No dyno yet, but I'd put money on around 450 hp. It breathes through a Holley 4779 750 cfm double pumper and Edelbrock dual plane aluminum intake. Hooker Super Competition headers and flowmaster 2 1/2" exhaust sounds sweet, & mean. * New Milodon 7 qt. oil pan. * New Ram clutch and toploader 4 speed. Ford tough 9" rear rebuilt with a 3.50:1 gears, and new rear drum brakes. * The front suspension has been heavily modified (improved) with a new Mustang II setup. The shock towers have been eliminated to make room for the new double A-arm setup with coil-over shocks and rack & pinion steering. New heavy duty 11" front rotors are stout, and new race brake pads. * New Eleanor style aluminum wheels 17" x 8", wrapped in new Riken 245/45-17 Z rated tires. * The car was finished in a beautiful DuPont basecoat/clearcoat B.M.W. Black Sapphire effect with Silver Shelby accent stripes. This car looks black most of the time, but in direct sunlight, it really comes alive with the pearl effects. Paint is near perfect. * The interior is also new. Everything from top to bottom. New headliner, seat upholstery, carpet, door panels, instrument cluster, dash pad, sun visors, etc. There is no radio installed at the moment but the radio bezel is new and in place. Has the original fold-down rear seat and 8,000 RPM tach. New rubber and window moldings. This car is essentially a Black Bullitt car with Eleanor rims, and Shelby stripes. * New quarter panels, fenders, doors, not a spec of rust on the car. Lines are great. Restored top to bottom. Original glass. * Kept in a heated, dry garage for the last 3 years since restoration was completed. Barely driven since, and only like an old lady !! * Please email for more details.
