Vehicle Detail
1995 Mustang GT – SN 95/AOE Mechanic’s or Enthusiast’s Special One owner, 97K miles, Adult driven This GT was purchased new in April 1995. It was a daily driver for 10 years, until a Corvette sidelined it and it was parked (outdoors) for the last 8 years. It was driven regularly to maintain a battery charge and fluid circulation. So, pretty much it is a stock 1995 Mustang GT, with a 5.0 motor. In fact, it’s the last year of the 5.0. Instead of listing all the “haves,” I am going to list what is wrong and what it needs, in my opinion: Needs shocks all the way around Needs a new driver’s seat (the motor and frame are broken, but it is positioned all the way back) It has a very annoying shudder at 1000 RPM. I have taken it to many shops. Some say it is a tune up issue, other say it’s a torque converter issue. The most it will cost to repair according to local shops is $800. Not surprisingly, the price goes up depending upon the amount of questions I ask. I believe the mechanics sense my lack of mustang repair knowledge and up goes the price. It runs pretty good at 1200 to 3500 RPM…torque is good, acceleration is decent. But at 1000 RPM …it shakes. At idle speed, no shake. The paint is faded, and there is one shopping cart dent on the driver’s door. Other than that, it is a garden variety Mustang GT. The price has been adjusted to sell the car. I see most going for $3K or more depending on condition etc. This one is competitively priced. It is a California car. If you can turn a wrench or have a few dollars set aside for upgrades, additions, basic repair and maintenance….this may be the deal you are looking for. If you want a daily driver that runs close to prefect…look elsewhere. I could fix it and do all the stuff listed, but I am too busy and really not interested in doing it…just being honest.
