Vehicle Detail
This truck is a driver. It is not perfect, but you can drive it while you make the changes you want to make. Last summer it was used as a daily driver! It is in a lot better shape than the pictures show. Up for sale is my 1995 Chevy S10 with a rebuilt and bored .30 over 350 (355) SBC from a 1979 Chevrolet with a 4 bolt main. The motor runs strong and is in good shape. The body is very solid for this area, and while the paint isn’t show quality, it is very presentable and would clean up well. The frame is clean, suspension is tight, and it drives relatively well. It has the following good things going for it: Sunpro gauges, new bucket seats, new carpet, cd player with new speakers, and a smooth shifting 700r4 trans (I think it has a shift kit, but not 100% sure). It has Lakewood traction bars, Iroc-z rims, and a rear end with a locker. The motor has a 650cfm Edlebrock carb with electric choke, Edlebrock performer intake manifold, new Accel distributor and wires, new alternator, Summit cast iron heads, Edlebrock Performer cam and lifters. It has true dual 2.5 inch exhaust with Flowmasters. It needs the following to be fixed: The exhaust at the collector on the passenger side header came apart when it was loaded on a trailer (not a hard fix, just needs to be pushed back up and welded/clamped), a speedo cable tied into the Sunpro speedometer (or the original wired back in), and the carb needs a good tune. It runs good as it is, but has potential for a bunch more power! The truck is geared very high, but still has plenty of pep. I was told the motor has around 425 HP, but I would say this is overstated (pretty typical with HP and fishing stories). The rear tires will need to be replaced asap as at this point they are bald enough to be considered racing slicks. This truck needs a little tinkering, but the hard work is done. It has the potential to be a scary fast truck. With that said, I don’t have time for another toy, so this one is up on the auction block. Just a note, the battery in the truck is no longer the Optima as it was old and losing starting power. At the end of the auction the buyer has first rights at other parts I have in storage including a bell-housing to convert this to a standard, cowl induction hood, ZQ8 suspension, and many more parts at a very reasonable price. Let me know if you have any questions and thank you for viewing my auction. On Feb-20-11 at 11:54:37 PST, seller added the following information: UPDATE!!!! I just received more information about the truck as per the original builder: TCI Streetfighter trans in it, th350 with shift kit (was orginally told 700, but this is much better)! 10 bolt out of a 1970 nova that has a fresh rebuild with a locker 510/498 performer cam Summit dist with Accel guts Hooker Headers with the Step for the S10 V8 Swap Similar trucks with V8's are selling for much more with less invested! Don't miss out!
