1983 Mercedes Benz 380SL Convertible - V8 - 136,000 Miles Although the speedometer works, the odometer DOES NOT. The clean CarFax report shows the odometer worked in 2005 and the car has been off the road for about 5 years. Car has a new battery and was recently serviced. We drove the car about 35 miles to it's current location. Exhaust is quiet and seems intact. We didn't have any problems driving the car back, except for a blow out, as you can see by looking at the spare tire. The tire will be fixed before the winning bidder comes to pick it up. Motor and tranny are strong - no leaks or noises. Driving this car should not be a problem, however, the car is sold in "As Is" condition - No Guarantees. The signal lights DO NOT WORK, and the heat fan motor STOPPED WORKING on our drive home. I did not check any of the fuses, and though the brakes feel fine, we did not pull a wheel to check the brake pad thickness. The running lights work. I was told that the top doesn't have any rips or tears, but the plastic is a little foggy. The top has not seen the light of day in YEARS. This car is going to the highest bidder in "As Is" condition - No Reserve! No Buy It Now! No Trades! There is rust in some area as pictured, but the frame looks solid. The interior is worn as pictured. Rear window in the hard top has a crack in it. Since this car will not pass inspection in New York State... New York residents are unable to bid or buy unless they are a registered car dealer, registering/re-titling the vehicle out of state or are using it for “Parts Only”. As a registered NY State dealer I am unable to sell a car that won’t pass inspection to a NY State resident. Anyone else can bid and buy.
